If there was no death (of animals) before the Fall, then why would animals need to eat?

Lions are built to live off of straw. How does that happen?

I'm pretty sure only like mold can
digest straw.
Probably meant grass.
They'd need a totally reworked digestive
system starting at the teeth.

It happens because that is the way Jesus created them, all animals were vegetarian at creation.
Genesis 1
30 And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food.” And it was so.

At the fall the world and the creation became corrupted and certain natural laws changed, one being some animals now ate meat.
When God recreates the world animals will once more go back to eating plants.

Vegetarianism is a novel development. The first complex animals ate other animals.
And yeah, Animals existed LONG before Jesus.

Colossians 1

But it is typical. Creationists often make the mistake of thinking that their own personal interpretation is evidence. The problem is that other Christians do not agree with their personal interpretations. What they should be doing is testing their ideas outside of the Bible in the real world. They run into problems there too since the evidence from the real world only supports evolution.

You said "Animals existed LONG before Jesus."

So my reply to that statement was
Colossians 1
16 For in him all things were created

Because Jesus created the animals.

Wasn't Jesus born in a manger?
John 8:56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.
57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?
58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

Because Jesus created the animals.

So your reply was jibberish, because there were no animals before two thousand years ago?
Please explain this in light of all the evidence to the contrary.

Creationists tend towards Monarchianism: Jesus is Lord; God the Father and God the Holy Spirit please use the servant's entrance.
You are confusing Monarchianism with Ontological Subordination.

Maybe, but in traditional Subordinationism the Son was deemed to be subordinate to the Father. Quite frankly, I don't know what you would call the Creationists notion that the Father is subordinate to the Son.

In Old Testament times, yes.

The First Advent, followed by the Millennial Reign of Christ.

That was his human body. Jesus is God and has always been.
Hebrews 1:8
But of the Son he says, “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, the scepter of uprightness is the scepter of your kingdom.

I assumed you knew that Jesus is God and that God has always been.
Hebrews 1:8
But of the Son he says, “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, the scepter of uprightness is the scepter of your kingdom.

He took on flesh 2000 years ago when he came as a baby, but Jesus is the creator.
Colossians 1:16 16 for in him were all things created, in the heavens and upon the earth, things visible and things invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers; all things have been created through him, and unto him;
The him in the verse is Jesus, before he took on flesh.

The Word has always been. Jesus is the name of the Incarnate Word.
