Barbarian observes:
It comes down to evidence. And there is abundant evidence for evolution as the way God produced the diversity of life we see.
Would you like to see how we know this?
I would like to see how you imagine this...
No imagination needed. Fortunately, there is a great deal of evidence.
First hint came when Linnaeus (who had no idea about evolution) showed that all living things fit into a nested hierarchy, forming a family tree.
Later, Darwin's theory presented all sorts of evidence for evolution, including:
Observation that fitness increases in a population.
Observation that species don't form nice neat categories, but have all sorts of intermediate stages.
Vestigial organs, which nevertheless sometimes show new functions different than the original
Then Mendel's discovery of genetics cleared up major problem as to how an new trait might increase in a population.
Then the discover of DNA function and analysis showed that it gave us the same family tree as Linneaus to a very high precision. And we know this works, because we can check it on populations of known descent.
Then, one after another, we began to find predicted transitional fossils. Even more convincing, we never find any transitionals where there shouldn't be any.
Then we began to document speciations to the point that many creationist organizations admit that fact of new species evolving.
Then we have seen the evolution of new sytems in organisms, including a new digestive organ in just a few decades.
There's more. Would you like to see more, or would you like me to show you the details on any of these?
