This is an example of what I cannot understand. Why believe something just because the Bible teaches it? And does it really? Many believers interpret the Bible differently. What makes you so sure that your interpretation is correct anyway?Because the Bible teaches it.
Not a qualm. I'm trying to understand creationists. But it's difficult. It's such an alien mentality.Sure.
What is your qualm?
I believe anything taught in the Bible because it is the infallible and inerrant Word of God. It is God-breathed. It cannot be false. And yes, it really does teach creationism. So you believe (your interpretation of) the Bible because you believe (your interpretation of) the Bible.I believe anything taught in the Bible because it is the infallible and inerrant Word of God. It is God-breathed. It cannot be false. And yes, it really does teach creationism.
I believe in creationism because I believe God created mankind, the animals and nature....trying to understand the creationist mentality. I've been struggling with this for years. Is anyone prepared to give an honest, clear explanation as to why they believe in creationism?
You expect me to watch 1:20 hours of this? Precis please. This is the best argument (with science) for creationism I have ever heard. It makes quite a lot of sense.
Another one saying they believe because they believe. Sorry. Not helpful.I believe in creationism because I believe God created mankind, the animals and nature.
You asked why creationists accept creationism. I told you that I accept creationism because it is taught in the Bible. You asked if it really was taught in the Bible. I said yes. The reason I believe the Bible teaches creationism is because it is explicitly taught through the text of Scripture, starting with Genesis 1. The only way around these explicit teachings is to deny the historical understandings of the Jews and the church regarding these passages. As well, one must deny the plain language of the text. But essentially what you are saying - unless you want to correct me?

Using a word like 'faith' doesn't help explain anything. To me, it's just a noise. It is called FAITH.
Simple and to the point.
Trying to work out why others have faith in something we don't frazzles our brains I don't envy your struggle friend! Hope you find some degree of solace here though with company.
I must have missed it. I believe the Bible because of the grace of God. Had God not given me grace then I would not believe in the Bible. No natural man, without the work of God, can come to belief in the Bible. And I asked you why you believe the Bible.
