It is a cooperation. It is synergistic. A believer surrenders to Christ and the good work He desires to do through them. Remember, Jesus says that without Him, we can do nothing (See John 15:5).

"Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God." (Philippians 1:11).
So you get partial credit, then.

I'll go back to this.

1 John 2:3-6 says,
3 "And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked."

No, I don't really. It's true whether or not I explain them.

But that is not how believers defend the truth, though. We are told to contend for the faith, preach the Word, and we are told that the greatest among us serves.

When I find something that I feel needs defending, I do so.

Why do you think God says, Well done good and faithful servant to one of his sheep in Matthew 25:23? While we do cooperate with Christ, it is ultimately Christ doing the good work through us. For it is why the 24 elders had cast down their crowns before Jesus (Revelation 4:10).

But you can't keep them if you teach that a person can sin and still be saved as the OP implies.
For that would be leading others into thinking they can do evil and be right with God (if indeed your OP is suggesting that a person is righteous despite how they live).

We are not our own, we are bought and paid for with a price. We are told to preach the Word and to contend for the faith. The sword of the Spirit is the Word of God. You are not using your most valuable weapon in your arsenal.

Casting crowns

Casting crowns down before Jesus does not mean we can sin and still be saved.
Nowhere does the Bible say or suggest even such a thing.

Here are a few verses for you to consider:

Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only." (James 2:24).
"Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone." (James 2:17).
"They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate." (Titus 1:16).
"If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; He is proud, knowing nothing, "
(1 Timothy 6:3-4).
"...God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble." (James 4:6).
"And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him." (Hebrews 5:9).
"Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord" (Hebrews 12:14).
"If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema Maranatha." (1 Corinthians 16:22).
"If ye love me, keep my commandments." (John 14:15).
"Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls." (James 1:21).
"But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile; But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile: For there is no respect of persons with God." (Romans 2:8-11).
"For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved." (John 3:20).
"What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? (Romans 6:1-2).
"...but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments." (Matthew 19:17).

And there are of course many more verses like these, as well.

Verses on the Error of Christians saying they cannot walk uprightly:

Jesus says,

"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven" (Matthew 5:16).

Jesus also says,

"You give glory to my Father when you produce a lot of fruit and therefore show that you are my disciples." (John 15:8 GW).

And Peter says,

"Be careful to live properly among your unbelieving neighbors. Then even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honorable behavior, and they will give honor to God when he judges the world." (1 Peter 2:12 NLT).

Paul says,

"That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;" (Philippians 2:15).

In the mean time, you should have no trouble refuting some of the verses I posted.

A person is righteous by what they believe. Paul states we are justified by faith, like Abraham. How we live is a result of being made new.

My thinking is that God's declaration is sufficient.
Please cite your verses which declare us anything but righteous to be fitted for heaven...in other words those passages in which God declares us "as holy as Christ Himself".

Here's one.

4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us,
5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ-by grace you have been saved-
6 and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, - Ephesians 2:4-6

I'm quite certain that the Father would not let anyone with less righteousness than His Son sit with Him.
