Evolution is a theory that tries to tell me that a finch with enough time could transform into a Galapagos Tortoise or vice/versa ^_^ .. Or that enough time DNA will form and function on it's own then change it's code and information on it's own ,then program its own death .. Sorry, I ain't buying .. ID can be seen in everything formed including the irreducible mouse trap or that the eye could ever be anything but designed ,useless unless whole and functional from the get-go .. Every creature and plant serves it's purpose and is perfect in it's perfect environment . Some may adapt and breed out certain traits to become recessive or dominate but kinds remain kinds limited to unchanging information contained and well defined in their DNA ..But we all know these things, just can't discuss them without the Political Correct police rushing it to shout it down .. I will not be moved ..
All that typing and nothing about the theory of intelligent design.

Shocking!

I don't see how any science teacher can deny ID as a viable alternative to Evolution theory,
Of course you don't. But given how you can't articulate a theory of intelligent design and don't understand the theory of evolution, I'm not surprised.

I'm not surprised you believe evolution, you have no choice .. But then your A-typical response that I have no understanding is not surprising either ..

You're still very confused. I don't "believe evolution". I have looked at the evidence and concluded it is correct and valid. There is no more belief involved than determining that a particular car is less expensive than another car.

That you don't understand evolution is abundantly clear from your comments. I will admit I am wrong if you can explain what evolution is in your own words however.

I'm not a science teacher, but I am a scientist, and I have no idea how ID can be a viable alternative when there doesn't seem to be a theory of ID. How can a scientific theory that makes abundant, specific predictions about a wide range of data be replaced by "I think an intelligent designer did it"?

Easy. It's not a viable alternative and never has been (scientifically speaking). That's how.

@AV1611VET - Thanks

What is the difference between YEC and embedded age?

(BTW 'Different state' doesn't make much sense to me)
As I understand it, your typical YEC believes that The Flood accounts for the Earth science evidence which would otherwise indicate great age. Embedded agers think God just made it look old.

I would simply introduce that evolution is a theory and there are many who don't believe it and here is what they believe and why .. We have threads and pages and pages right here on these forums .. Each side as convinced as the other with many good points provoking thought ... Just like in chess , the more you play the sharper you get in your thought and problem solving ..

Why do you keep talking about evolution?
You are being asked about ID, not about evolution.

For the purpose of this thread, evolution is of the table and you get to teach ID. What do you teach?

The age of the universe.

If I understand YECs correctly, they believe it is no more than 10,000 years old.

Whereas Embedded Age says the universe was created millions ... if not billions ... of years old; but only created 6000 years ago.

In other words, it was created old.

Like Adam & Eve were.

I like to use this illustration; and I even have a challenge thread on it:

Can God create a dress tomorrow so old it falls apart with age?

In lala-land, all is possible.
In Muthanachaland (Atheistville), not all is possible.

Let's let God break the tie.

Jeremiah 32:17 Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:
