No, I'm glad for it. It is only because the Governor of Virginia is strong and took action as a minister of God to protect the public by banning everything.

Perhaps that governor could protect the public just as effectively by banning things like murder, rape, and home invasion.

He also set out his forces of God's Justice to ensure it. You see, when it comes down to it, people with guns may talk and talk about protecting themselves from a government (hypothetically one that is "tyrranical", not that any of them know what that even means) but in reality they cannot and would not ever be able to even begin a fight with the governmental forces that God has put in authority over us.

And what were these "forces of God's justice" armed with? It wouldn't be GUNS, would it? Nah, they wouldn't be hypocritical that way!

Any Christian who can read Romans 13 would understand this and wouldn't need it explained over and over.

That doesn't explain the Left's hatred of Trump. They're all so very Christian and respectful of the authority God put in place over them. Maybe that only applies when they agree with those put in place over them. Otherwise, ANTIFA!

Those things are already banned - don't you understand that? You think those things are legal? Seriously?? What planet are you on?

And what were these "forces of God's justice" armed with? It wouldn't be GUNS, would it? Nah, they wouldn't be hypocritical that way!
It would be guns as well as other things. How is that hypocritical at all? That's their job as authorized by God Himself. THEY should have those things. Those who are not agents or ministers of God's Justice should NOT have those things. How is that so hard to understand?

That doesn't explain the Left's hatred of Trump. They're all so very Christian and respectful of the authority God put in place over them. Maybe that only applies when they agree with those put in place over them. Otherwise, ANTIFA!
That has nothing to do with this thread. Go start your own thread about Trump and the Left's hatred of him if you want. Stop trying to derail this one with your irrelevant nonsense.

You have several Christians here who are disturbed by the appearance of racism in this practice of taking a day to commemorate a Christian Black American leader (who led a non-violent movement for the rights of the oppressed) and using that particular, specific day as their day to glorify and celebrate killing weapons, in fact the one type of weapon used to kill the man that the holiday is actually for.

Please don't post false information. Especially if you want us to take you seriously:

"At 6:00 P.M. on April 4, 1968, Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. stepped onto the balcony outside his room at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis. Seconds later, a single .30-06 round mortally wounded the 39-year-old civil-rights leader.

King had arrived at the motel on March 29. He was in Memphis to show his support for striking black public-works employees. Planning to attend a meeting on the evening of April 4, he stepped out onto the balcony outside of room 306.

James Earl Ray had positioned himself in the second floor bathroom of a boarding house across the street from the motel. He was armed with a Remington Model 760 Gamemaster, a pump-action hunting rifle chambered in .30-06 and outfitted with a two-by-seven scope."

Well, somebody was just telling me this:
No, I'm glad for it. It is only because the Governor of Virginia is strong and took action as a minister of God to protect the public by banning everything. He also set out his forces of God's Justice to ensure it.

So it sounded like the "banning everything" by your "strong governor" was effective at keeping the supposedly evil gun owners peaceful, as if they couldn't be peaceful on their own. If that's the case, then why not ban murder? How effective has that been? Maybe the governor isn't so strong after all.

It would be guns as well as other things. How is that hypocritical at all? That's their job as authorized by God Himself. THEY should have those things. Those who are not agents or ministers of God's Justice should NOT have those things. How is that so hard to understand?

That's only your opinion. Armed citizens have stopped many crimes, have saved many lives, and have even assisted the police--who overwhelmingly support the Second Amendment.

That has nothing to do with this thread. Go start your own thread about Trump and the Left's hatred of him if you want. Stop trying to derail this one with your irrelevant nonsense.

How convenient!

...says the gun lover who has no stats to back up his incorrect claims

Then perhaps you've never been to Chicago.
Try living there, then try to buy a handgun to protect yourself while living there, and then try continuing to live there while unarmed.

What do we agree on? I don't believe "the people should have guns to defend themselves", at least not in the way you do with little or no regulation.

In any case, my point is that while people with Christian values used MLK day to commemorate the Christian deeds of MLK, others were using the day to divert attention from MLK (out of racism and hate) to gun worship. These are people who value guns SO MUCH as an idol that they chose and went out of their way to do such a thing. That is very telling about a person's values and whether or not they're aligned with God's Will.
That's your warped view of it. What I see is a diverse group of people celebrating freedom, I think Martin Luther King would be happy with that.

They couldn't be peaceful on their own - that's why the governor was wise to ban everything. Had he not, a lot of them would have been shot and maybe killed. They are people with violent proclivities.

And again, murder is banned. Murder is illegal. Where do you get the idea that murder is not banned?? On what planet?? Unbelievable!

That's only your opinion. Armed citizens have stopped many crimes, have saved many lives, and have even assisted the police--who overwhelmingly support the Second Amendment.
Once in a blue moon, perhaps. Mostly "armed citizens" are committing crimes. Look at all the gun crimes - they are all committed by gun owners.

Police overwhelmingly support the 2nd Amendment? LOL - try telling that to a NYPD or Jersey City officer. They're the ones who get shot by gun-carrying citizens.

How convenient!
Convenient or not, stop trying to derail this thread. If you feel so strongly about "Trump haters" then start a thread of your own.

What did I post that was false?

Thanks for providing proof that my claim that MLK was killed by a gun is 100% True.

How is believing in freedom racist?
It's not. Your view on the gun-worshiping event being held on the day commemorating the Gun killing of a Christian Black Pacifist Leader who fought for the rights of minorities is racist. Don't equate that with "freedom" because it's completely different. That's just dumb racist doubletalk on your part.

No they are committed by criminals. Mostly with guns that were already illegal for them to posses.

Apparently everything is racist to you.
Even black and Asian gun owners celebrating their freedoms.

I didn't know that pump action hunting rifles were on the "ban list".

King was a gun owner.
King even tried to apply for a concealed weapons permit.
So why do you think he would be against gun owners celebrating their right to possess firearms?

Why would it be racist. Just because MLK was black doesn't mean having a gun rights rally on Lobby Day at the capital is racist since we're not spending the entire day worshipping MLK.

Don't equate that with "freedom" because it's completely different. That's just dumb racist doubletalk on your part.

Are we not free to spend MLK day doing what we choose to do?
