How does one become a saint?

It makes no difference how man views anything anyhow without the final Authority of God. Only He knows the heart. We are not to usurp His Power of authority as some presume to do.
Don't worry about the sainthood of others. See to it you are one in your relationship with the Saviour.

Amen. According to Scripture, anyone who has received Jesus Christ by faith is a saint (Acts 9:13; 26:10; Romans 1:7; 15:25; 1 Corinthians 1:2; 2 Corinthians 1:1; 13:12-13; Ephesians 1:1; 4:12; Colossians 1:2; Philippians 1:1; 4:21).

Acts 9:13: "Then Ananias answered, 'Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much harm he has done to Your saints in Jerusalem.'"

Acts 26:10: "This I also did in Jerusalem, and many of the saints I shut up in prison, having received authority from the chief priests; and when they were put to death, I cast my vote against them."

Romans 1:7: "To all who are in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ."

Romans 15:25: "But now I am going to Jerusalem to minister to the saints."

1 Corinthians 1:2: "To the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all who in every place call on the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:"

2 Corinthians 1:1: "To the church of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints who are in all Achaia."

2 Corinthians 13:12-13: "Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the saints greet you."

Ephesians 1:1: "To the saints who are in Ephesus, and faithful in Christ."

Ephesians 4:12: "for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,"

Colossians 1:2: "To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ who are in Colosse."

Philippians 1:1: "To all the saints in Christ Jesus who are in Philippi."

Philippians 4:21: "Greet every saint in Christ Jesus. The brethren who are with me greet you."

are you sure that the Anglican Church views the Wesley brothers as Saints?

The Wesleys broke away from the Anglican communion, although John Wesley always saw himself as an Anglican. As the brothers Wesley were instrumental in the emergence of Methodism it is strange that their lives are celebrated by Anglicans whom they found to be very apathetic towards the things of G-d at the time and they were forbidden to preach .

So the answer is 'yes'..they have a day devoted to their memory in May.

I also find it quite curious that the Anglicans now honor John Bunyan, the Baptist, who they jailed as a Dissenter during his lifetime. His hymn, from Pilgrim's Progress, "To Be A Pilgrim", is regularly sung in Anglican churches.

I think Anglicans vary considerably from community to community and encompass a wide range of Believers..also there isn't any real rivalry between Protestant denominations...Wesley, Bunyan...they were Christians, and they would be shooting themselves in the foot if they failed to acknowledge the impact they had within the Body....so Anglicanism is not really about exclusivity...just being a Christian.

I agree. That is both a strength and a weakness.

Yes we are. That is why the 'communion of saints' includes those of us on earth as well as those who have died in Christ. One 'common union'.

Yep: it really is pretty clear in Scripture. Tradition blurs Scripture.

You have to ask yourself - why does the bible clearly teach a believer is a saint when my RCC teaches almost the exact opposite.....

Jesus says:

1. Believers in me are considered saints - RCC says that's not true
2. These are people who are alive - RCC says that's not true
3. They are saints simply on belief in Christ - RCC says that's not true

RCC says:

1. Saints are Catholics who have died - Jesus says that's not true
2. Saints are those who have done 2 miracles - Jesus says that's not true
3. Saints are appointed by the RCC - Jesus says that's not true

I'll second that :clap::clap::thumbsup:.

This is what we Lutherans call the "invisible Church" and "The Church Triumphant". This transcends not only the various Churches and denominations but time and space as well. :)
