Where is the Gospel that a wise man builds his house upon? Your buildings and religious things are carnal, not spiritual, is not the way to get into the kingdom.

I could get better fellowship in a gutter with a remorseful drunk than here.

For all of your self-righteous pontificating, it is rather strange that you keep coming back to GT to argue despite numerous declarations that you planned to stay away.

If we love the Gospel we should do all we can to promote it. Forget the denom theology, the world needs the Gospel. Thats what im trying to say. Call me whatever you want, the truth remains that we are arguing over things that are not worth arguing over. Year after year we will debate Mary and other things. What a waste.

Jas 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
Jas 1:23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
Jas 1:24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
Jas 1:25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
Jas 1:26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.

Amen! :) Who thinks he stands??

Gal 6:3 For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.
Gal 6:4 But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.
Gal 6:5 For every man shall bear his own burden.

Hellelujah. Our relationship is with the ascended Lord and none else. HE!! is the head of our church and not the pope, ministers, preachers, etc. Satan has blinded many to that fact with programs and features to lure in the crowd and ignore the Gospel that God is all! God is NOT the author of confusion!!

I believe that is "demon" theology? I make tipoz on occasion. ;)

The title of Saint or calling one a Doctor of Father of the Church is a way of respectfully noting that individual's Christian witness, contribution, and example to the Church catholic (small C intentional). Scripture notes the "Cloud of witnesses"; those of us who commemorate/venerate these heroes of the faith are noting this "Cloud" as Scripture does.:)

Just saw it recently where others were having issue with the fact that Martin Luther King recieved the title of Saint....with the archdiocese of Saint Louis celebrating a Mass for Martin Luther King, Jr. and the mass dedicated to honoring MLK's message of inalienable human dignity (more here, here, here, here, here, here and here )

The man is one of my heros and I think it's amazing that others would even consider him to be within the realm of people to be deemed "Saint"...:)

I do not think that the church was saying that Martin Luther King Jr. was a saint....they were just having a mass in honor of him and all the good work he has done
I think that's still where a lot of people were having issue with King even being celebrated, as they felt the Catholic Church shouldn't be honoring someone so highly even though he's not Catholic. And ultimately, a lot of it comes down to what is meant by "saint" and whether others are referring to a "canonized saint" or simply a "saint" (as in, one who is in Heaven and may/may not be recognized on Earth). King David committed several bad deeds and he is regarded as a saint. Moses murdered an Egyptian yet he is one of the most venerated figures within the Bible, and is equally praised in Judaism and Islam alike.

But in regards to saints, it's interesting to see how even protestants have had saints.

For example, both John and Charles Wesley are saints in the Anglican Communion...and that is interesting considering that Anglicanism in its structures, theology, and forms of worship, is commonly understood as a distinct Christian tradition representing a middle ground between Roman Catholicism and Protestantism and, as such, is often referred to as being a via media (or middle way) between these traditions.

Many have noted that the Church does not go around canonizing non-Catholics as Saints, even though it doesn't mean there are none.

It makes no difference how man views anything anyhow without the final Authority of God. Only He knows the heart. We are not to usurp His Power of authority as some presume to do.
Don't worry about the sainthood of others. See to it you are one in your relationship with the Saviour.

God chooses who He will make a Saint first. Then this person needs to trust and surrender/conform to His will. Cooperating with the grace and blessings.

How does one have insight/revelation as to who is in Heaven? Are we now privvy to G-ds final judgment? If we cannot differentiate between wheat and tares now...what enables us to make the call later?

Don't waste time praying to the departed Believers...pray to the L-rd.
