We are free to choose. Some may resist at first but then later accept and cooperate with God's grace. Others may accept God's grace but then choose to ignore God's will.

God gives each of us sufficient grace. He also gives us plenty of warnings about what happens to those who reject his will.

Interesting added option you have included: accepted grace, yet ignoring God's will


I don't want to put words in your mouth, but the notion of all men beginning with enough grace to choose Christ is somewhat compelling and worthy of consideration. Since God has set eternity in the heart of man and nature is evidence of God, man must suppress the knowledge of the truth. Wesley spoke of prevenient grace. Is the Wesley-Arminianism position on salvation in any way aligned with Catholicism?

Cooperation is often an unpopular word in discussions on salvation. Cooperation with choice, initiated by grace, and with grace as the catalyst for a right choice is imperative. These essential ingredients allow man to choose, keeping the will engaged while the will freely chooses Christ, albeit persuaded by grace. Is cooperation simply another way to describe synergism compared to monergism?

Creation. The ability to receive God's grace is part of our human makeup.

Why do we or even should we pray if God has predetermined the beginning from the end?

Did not Jesus Himself teach us how to pray?

Why not all of God's children obedient then? God gives us His indwelling Holy Spirit but then does not predestine His Children to obedience? Walking with God? Walking in the Spirit?

Just to clarify, are you preaching salvation by grace or Calvinism?

Contrary to popular Calvinsistic beliefs, those who do not believe in Calvinism also preach grace by faith.

What it sounds like above is salvation by grace with a lot of Calvinism thrown in, so I think salvation by grace seems to me to be a secondary thought to preaching Calvinism?

Or am I wrong?

I don't know any Calvinists well enough to be able to speak for them, but I did hear that John Calvin said God's grace is "irresistible".

One can say "irresistible" means His grace is almighty to unstoppably work in a person (Philippians 2:13) to get the person to choose Jesus.

Another could say "irresistible" means His grace of His love is so beautifully wonderful that no one could want to resist Him.

or both

But I did not personally know John so I could know what he really was experiencing grace to be . . . or wasn't experiencing.

I asked why are not God's Children obedient then. God's Children delineate that they are saved Children of God. God is their master.

I am not talking about unsaved people here.

Well, Calvinism is pretty clear. Irresistable is NOT being able to resist. They believe that we are overpowered by the Holy Spirit and regenerated by the Holy Spirit before faith. This being overpowered by the Holy Spirit and regeneration is what brings one to faith.

You may want to familiarize yourself a little with their understanding. You will run across many of them here and it's easier when you know their lingo.
