So the only “ requirement “ is belief ,Correct ?
Hello Blood Bought.

The primary doctrine (1 Corinthians 15) implies that we are saved, by believing in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This is the fundamental platform on which we stand, by which we are saved. Salvation is a free gift given to those that essentially call on the name of Jesus.

When a person asks themselves what is salvation who is Christ Jesus these are of the most important good questions i feel a need to make a compelling statement based on the facts required leading a person in direction of their free choice accepting Christ Jesus as their savior. its important to me for i want or would like for you to enjoy the loving freedom in the relationship with him but recognizing his divine authority at all times.

So this I the guy on this post replying mere wretch sinner thief and a lair car stealing gambling adulterer and all things not according to gods will who once was and who is seeking to save their soul just like everyone else. It is by the divine authority God the alpha and omega that god by his grace and grace alone shall I be saved there is no God but one.

You have made the first step coming here which is brave but its were you need to be

The pros and the super pros of salvation.

1 you will have a relationship with God on his time not yours and be saved

The bads and the very bads

1 you will have to give up all the cigarettes booze adulterous actions if you have any lies deception all things not belonging or not Christ like be laughed at persecuted mocked made fun of be called a nut job give up your old life basically be the kill joy of todays modern culture and society

Alistair Begg
a reputable humble man of god on the subject subbmitting yourself to god

So you have thought and decided you want to give your life to Christ and be born again
this is the best thing i have heard since i have joined this forum and i think we as members on this forum should take particular interest in this man with a obligation of the most importance to help him on his decision i presume he has limited scriptural knowledge maybe i am wrong so i do not deviate in anyway Gods word if we are going to quote it best be explained to him the meanings of the verse and scripture its easy to speak it but a wise man will understand it and apply it to his own life that i have not got the knowledge of most yet i am unashamed

people will maybe convince you can say a quoted prayer and once you say it you are saved this is simply not true do not believe it it is false doctrine. give yourself clear indication of how you present yourself before him he already knows what your going to say he will read your heart is where the truth lays it is of the most importance that i stress that their is no time but now to ask Christ to be your lord and savior that decision is entirely yours and yours alone for my friend you are not guaranteed tomorrow can you honestly say that you believe in god to be the divine authority and Christ Jesus who bore himself on that cross and give his life of free will and to glorify his father and to take the sins of the world and died and rose again and ascended to heaven so that man may have a chance to be saved and enter his kingdom and have eternal peace by gods grace and his alone

The steps on how to ask Christ to be your lord and savior when you truly believe in your own heart that he is gods son the only one delegated by god to be worthy of such a task to be your lord and savoir and repent close your door or where you feel comfortable but with the up most importance humble yourself get rid of all the pride and give him proper divine authority you may cry this is good its not about you it is about repenting for your sins and accepting the fact that Jesus Christ gods only son gave his life so that man may be shown mercy and be able to be reconciled with god due to his sinful nature and Jesus Christ paid the price for us so that wee may be saved afterwards you may feel elated relived or maybe want to dwell on the fact that you have accepted Christ turn away from your sins whatever they may be and have faith trust him read the scripture learn about who Jesus was and walk with Christ all your days and you and only you alone will know you have a relationship with god in his own time not yours and my friend you live in a world which is not in the ways of god it wont be easy you will have temptations resist the devil at all costs he will do anything to ruin your relationship with Christ and also god he is a liar thief fornicator master of seduction and many other things do not under estimate him but neither give him any foothold when he comes at you remind him of his future resist him and he will flee you will always be a sinner but dont forget Jesus paid the price for your salvation you might slip up from time to time i have and still do but always remember he is a forgiving god saying sorry to him and be quick to awknowledge it every time wee make a mistake he is quick to forgive us or sins but do your best not to repeat it when you have the love of Christ you wont really desire these things seek him everyday and every moment and god will take care of the rest and he will meet you where you at but its up to you as well relationships take two this is simplified because i know you dont understand all of it thats why i am here to help you and give you the best knowledge that i have i with no special fancy intellectual knowledge but i do know one thing Christ gave his life for you and I the upmost sinner god loves you and desires to have a relationship with you

Go and get baptized in the name of Jesus Christ any man who as the authority and is in Christ and has been elected to do so would be more than happy to see it happen

my friend if you are given grace by god you will be resurrected on the day of Jesus return

Thanks for your concern, Peter.....I might be a fool ,but I actually believe that God can save me.Paul said if I believed the Godpel thAt saves—1cor15– I would be saved. “The righteous shall LIVE by faith”. That is what I do. Like Paul said to the Galations....we finish the way we started.....I did not get Gods Holy Spirit by giving up booze, women and cigarettes....I got it when I said “God have mercy on me a sinner”. No works. Not one. God’s Spirit changed me and I lost the pleasure for many things that Used to give me a thrill.i made no effort at all.God did it not me—-they just all kinda fell by the way-side.So excuse me if I prefer to stay on my current path. I live by faith ( acting on the promises of God) and I trust God to continue to change me in the future, just like He has done for the last 35 years. Google Harry Ironsides Gospel if you want to know everything I believe....if you find any problems with his teachings send me another post.perhaps maybe even YOU could learn a thing or two...thanks again for your concern about my soul and may God bless you and all the great people in your country.

All I do is give new definition to the term “ wretched “. God ,with his Amazing Grace, gave this former atheistic fool “ ears to hear” I don’t know why. All I know is I can’t wait to fall at His feet and worship him. Thank you for the kind words,my brother

Seeing oneself as a lost sinner who needs a Saviour, would be my guess....Lord Jesus, have mercy on me, a sinner is adequate to save ,I think.....anybody out there see things differently than I do?

Blood Bought 1953 Please accept my humble apology by the above statement which i have took the wrong way i read seeing oneself as a lost sinner who needs a savior taking it by perception that you would like guidance on how to be saved due to my complete ignorance which i sincerely apologize for and i stand and look like a fool in my statement or post that was a response rather than thinking you already have a savoir rather than reading it to see the point that you are actually saying and for that i make a public apology on the forum and especially to you Blood Bought 1953 being a wiser man than I that i thought you were or would be looking an indication on how to accept Jesus Christ as lord and saviour

Again with the up most sincere apology brother i stand corrected which is in my best interests it will not happen again and i will make a note to myself to read and take good perception on what people are actually saying it will not happen again....

On judgement day there will be an Accuser in the crowd pointing his evil finger at those like you and I.Knowing we are covered by the Blood Of Jesus,God,who has forgiven and forgotten our sins will tell that Accuser... ..” go away,I don’t even know what you are talking about....”. I’ll say the same thing to you....no need to apologize , I don’t know what you are talking about. Far from .looking the fool—-quite the contrary, you are a kind ,sensitive man who exudes class and I am overjoyed as to have met you.God bless you and yours and of course the Queen... lol

We would call that pietism, and some of us see that as potentially deadly, because it can easily major in the minors. A Christian that never swears but still feels justified acting cruelly, for instance, is not showing evidence of a living faith.

Besides, we Lutherans have the small vice of tending to swear more than a little. Not all of us, but some of us just don't see it as that big of a deal.
So how do you show by your lie that you are Christian?

Are dirty jokes, lewed language, drunkeness, tax evassion etc etc etc normal for the Christian?

There are many clean living unregenerate people.

I agree there are, many show up the poor quality of Christian living.

How does a new Christian show that he/she has changed?

What Is The Gospel?
By Dr. Harry Ironside (1876-1951). Enjoy....or not!

"Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the Gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; by which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures" (1st Corinthians 15:1-4).

It might seem almost a work of supererogation to answer a question like this. We hear the word, "Gospel" used so many times. People talk of this and of that as being "as true as the Gospel," and I often wonder what they really mean by it.

First I should like to indicate what it is not.

THE GOSPEL IS...
Not The Bible

harry_ironside.jpg
In the first place, the Gospel is not the Bible. Often when I inquire, "What do you think the Gospel is?" people reply, "Why, it is the Bible, and the Bible is the Word of God." Undoubtedly the Bible is the Word of God, but there is a great deal in that Book that is not Gospel.

"The wicked shall be turned into Hell with all the nations that forget God." That is in the Bible, and it is terribly true; but it is not Gospel.

"It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God." That is in the Bible, but it is not the Gospel.

Our English word, "gospel" just means the "good spell," and the word "spell," is the old Anglo-Saxon word for, "tidings", the good tidings, the good news. The original word translated. "Gospel," which we have taken over into the English with little alteration is the word, "evangel," and it has the same meaning, the good news. The Gospel is God's good news for sinners. The Bible contains the Gospel, but there is a great deal in the Bible which is not Gospel.

Not The Commandments

The Gospel is not just any message from God telling man how he should behave. "What is the Gospel?" I asked a man this question some time ago, and he answered, "Why I should say it is the Ten Commandments and the Sermon on the Mount, and I think if a man lives up to them he is all right." Well, I fancy he would be; but did you ever know anybody who lived up to them? The Sermon on the Mount demands a righteousness which no unregenerate man has been able to produce. The law is not the Gospel; it is the very antitheses of the Gospel. In fact, the law was given by God to show men their need of the Gospel .

"The law," says the Apostle Paul, speaking as a Jewish convert, "was our schoolmaster to bring us to Christ. But after that Christ is come we are no longer under the schoolmaster."

Not Repentance

The Gospel is not a call to repentance, or to amendment of our ways, to make restitution for past sins, or to promise to do better in the future. These things are proper in their place, but they do not constitute the Gospel; for the Gospel is not good advice to be obeyed, it is good news to be believed. Do not make the mistake then of thinking that the Gospel is a call to duty or a call to reformation, a call to better your condition, to behave yourself in a more perfect way than you have been doing in the past.

Not Giving Up The World

Nor is the Gospel a demand that you give up the world, that you give up your sins, that you break off bad habits, and try to cultivate good ones. You may do all these things, and yet never believe the Gospel and consequently never be saved at all.

THERE ARE SEVEN DESIGNATIONS OF THE GOSPEL in the New Testament, but over and above all these, let me draw your attention to the fact that when this blessed message is mentioned, it is invariably accompanied by the definite article. Over and over and over again in the New Testament we read of the Gospel. It is the Gospel not a Gospel. People tell us there are a great many different Gospels; but there is only ONE. When certain teachers came to the Galatians and tried to turn them away from the simplicity that was in Christ Jesus by teaching "another Gospel, "the apostle said that it was a different gospel, but not another; for there is none other than the Gospel. It is downright exclusive; it is God's revelation to sinful man.

Everything is subject to testing, and this leads to more questions instead of answers; i.e. more problems instead of peace and harmony with Scripture.

The new Christian should live like the old Christian..you start and finish the same way....the Righteous shall L I V E by faith.....from faith to faith...believe and act on the promises of God and He will clean you up from the inside out.....remember what Jesus said about the inside of the cup? We can become religious and do spiritual imitation
( that would be the outside of the cup that the world can see ) or trust God to do what only He can do by spiritual fruition (that would be the inside of the cup) it worked for me is the only thing I can tell you for sure. God bless

A super spiritual answer and practically uselrss.
How should a new Christian live?

Try living in the real world, imagine the nearest non christian at work. He has become a Christian and is asking you about his life style how would you advice him?
What change would you expoect to see anyway without your advice?

I would tell him to check With Tolworth John and do everything possible to please the expectations of him and the rest of the religious ones...Put on your best show to please men like John with your outward performance , pay no heed to the things that only God can do—- like change your heart....that takes to long and people might judge you in the meanwhile...super spiritual enough for you?

Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ, said this:
Romans 7:15-25English Standard Version (ESV)
15 For I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate. 16 Now if I do what I do not want, I agree with the law, that it is good. 17 So now it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells within me. 18 For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh. For I have the desire to do what is right, but not the ability to carry it out. 19 For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I keep on doing. 20 Now if I do what I do not wantit is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells within me.

21 So I find it to be a law that when I want to do right, evil lies close at hand. 22 For I delight in the law of God, in my inner being, 23 but I see in my members another law waging war against the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin that dwells in my members. 24 Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? 25 Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin.

Dear Blood Bought 1953. Jesus gives us the perfect answer, Matthew 22 35-40; The first and great Commandment is: Love God with all thy hearts, with all thy souls, and love thy neighbour as thyself.
Verse 40 tells us: on these two Commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets. ( neighbour is all we know and all we meet) The Bible tells us: give up all selfish wishes and wants, start loving and caring for all you know and all you meet. God is Love, and God wants loving sons and daughters. Love is very catching, and love will NEVER let us down. Love is the greatest gifts we have, and God wants us to share love and compassion, joy and peace, and all things lovable Jesus died that we might live, let us follow Jesus back to our Heavenly Father, and be the men and women which God wants. Let us change this unkind world into a world where our Heavenly Father RULES. God is Love. I say this with love, Blood Bought, and send greetings to you and all LOVABLY beings. Greetings from Emmy, your sister in Christ.

That seems to be the majority opinion as to what it means to commit blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. In that respect you are in good company.

But that is a theological conclusion and not a strict reading of the passage.

Webster (and Cambridge) say that blasphemy is:
the act of insulting or showing contempt or lack of reverence for God
the act of claiming the attributes of a deity
irreverence toward something considered sacred or inviolable

Jesus said, "Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the one to come".

Therefore, considered in context, the generally accepted interpretation concerning blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is incorrect even if it does seem to follow logically in a theological way.

I would agree but I would also say that blasphemy of the Holy Spirit that was be referred to in the passage is also the knowledge of God's truth that the Pharissees had and yet they still attributed Jesus' miracles to the devil. Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is knowing the truth of God and mocking it, showing an unregenerate heart.
