We had a very wet Sabbath here. It was interesting dashing between buildings trying to stay dry.The Sabbath School lesson discussion was a bit of a contreversial one (Jewlery and Chistians), but everyone in the class agreed with the study. We managed to get the quiet boys talking a bit more, which was good. The speaker who took the service, and gave us a very good message about what our righteousness is, and how we can obtain it, and how we can dispel the 'idea' that we gain righteousness without actually having to submit all of our life to Christ. Some of the kids of the speaker played a special item, which was nice. It was funny watching them, as they don't use the music, and they were looking around at everyone.Just at the end of the service, an elderly lady collapsed at the organ, and they had to take her out to the back room, till the ambulance arrived. Apparently it was something to do with low blood pressure, poor thing It was a rather abrupt ending to the service, as no one could really concentrate after that.It started reaaaaly pouring after the service, so everyone dashed off pretty quickly. In-gathering was off for the day, but some people are going to do it during the week I think, as well as next weekend.

Don't know where abouts you are at but we need the rain real bad.

Happy Sabbath to everyone.

Northish NSW...

Today I was meant to be organising lots of stuff with my youth group, but I have a bad head cold so I had to stay home :( I really missed seeing everyone, and playing my violin in the service, but oh well... I had a very quiet day at home.

I was in the North New South Wales Conference (Cooranbong) for about 30 years and am now in the South Queensland Conference.

Sabbath is tomorrow! yay! and then it's back to work, boo. what are some good youth group stuff to do on saturday?

Hi there Eve

As I am on the other side of the world it is a bit hard to imagine what your surroundings are like.

If you are near mountains or similar places, a walk in the hills is often a good idea for a Sabbath afternoon.

We have some small hills behind us and we often go into them and spend the afternoon walking.

It just depends on what is around where you live.

Also just how many young people are at your Church.

When I was your age we had heaps of young people at Church and always plenty of things to do.

For those who know Cooranbong and living near Avondale College we just had so much to do.

We had JMV's and Pathfinders, we were members at the College Clubs so always had plenty of young teachers to do activities with.

Now I am out in the bush and away from all that so my kids have to do different things to what I did.

I can see both sides of the coin now.

I am sure you will come up with something.

Happy Sabbath.

I had a nice Sabbath today. I took the youth Sabbath School which was a good experience, and we had a good discussion about standing up for our faith and being a witness, and how we can be the Salt of the Eearth. It was very interesting.
Our paster gave us an awesome message today! It was on the passage in Revelation 2, about the Lacodian(sp) church, and how their state applies to us today, and how we can overcome that state. It was really inspiring!
I hope everyone had a nice day! :)

I took the two young ones (13 and 14) for a nature walk after watching 3ABN in the morning.

Just for the record Cunninghams Gap is about 120 kms south west of Brisbane.

Going south on one side is Mt Cordeaux and the other side is Mt Mitchel. We walked to the top of Mt Cordeaux. It is about a 7 km walk there and back. Didn't rush it, took in the views when we could and just found it very relaxing.

Then we went up the Mt Mitchel for about 40 minutes. Did not get to the top of that one but will do that another day.

Blessings to everyone.
