I had an awesome Sabbath today! (isn't that what I say every time? lol)

This morning was communion, so that was a good time to reflect on what the Lord has been doing in my life, and a time to recommit my life to him.
After lunch some friends and I got together with our instruments (there were two trumpets, a flute, two violins, a piano and an organ, a clarinet, an ephonium, and the 'conductor' alternated playing the saxaphone, the alto saxaphone, and the trombone. We played lots of great pieces, and had fun working it all out.

My Sabbath unfortunately wasn't as blessed as usual, but still I remain faithful. Hope you all injoyed your Sabbath. How is Sabbath school? It sounds very interesting and fun. My church is only new so Sabbath school isn't yet a priority. But thats something to pray for, you can too if you want. My church is called Northpoint.

My Sabbath was very nice! :) It was very busy though. We had a very interesting Sabbath School, a busy church service (the kids SS took it), then a luncheon, then we went to the river for the afternoon, and then had a social indian tea and cake auction in the evening!!

I think it must be getting very close to your Conference Camp. We have just had ours and usually yours follows on after we are finished

Happy Sabbath to everyone, will not be too long and we will be right into summer and with it the hot days and nights.

Yes, myself, one of my brothers and a friend are going to our conference camp (or Big Camp as we call it) tomorrow :)

Today was a nice quiet Sabbath. There were no youth in SS, as they are either at big camp or on holidays. A young bible worker filled in for taking the service, and he gave a very good message on having the wellspring of life in us, and the bread of life in our hands, to give to others.
After lunch we went for a drive in the forest around our area, which was nice

We had our camp meeting (as we call it) in June, which is during summer here. Now the leaves have changed colors and are beginning to fall off the trees. It's not too cold yet although the heat of summer is gone. Today was a beautiful, warm, sunny day. This is my favorite time of year. I love the smell of the cool, crisp air, and I love walking outside and stepping on leaves and hearing them crackle under my feet. The kids are looking forward to helping us rake, so they can jump into the piles of leaves. My husband and I started dating in the autumn (10 years ago), and those memories make me even more fond of this season. :)

Well, Big Camp was interesting...! I'm sorry to say that if I saw 3/4 of the people who were there down the street, I wouldn't know them from any other person... :( The music that was in the teen tent was extremly loud, and all rock style. Too Pentecostal...
But there was a good bible study in the big tent that I went to, so that was alright.

It was much the same at our recent "Big Camp"

Very sad to see just how much the world has crept into our ranks of believers.

On Sabbath afternoon of the first week car drivers ignored the repeated requests to shift their cars from no parking zones.

This was causing a safety hazard, forcing the administration to hire a fleet of trucks to tow that offending cars to the parking lot.

I helped with parking for years at our camp meeting, and every year we have folks who are stubborn. Rather than haul them out we just have three or four people direct them as to where to go fropm the time they enter. But invariably we have folks yell at us, ignore us, tell us one thing then go park where they want anyway (in the designated handicap areas).

It seems strange to me that folks coming to a religious meeting would want to start it out that way. We had a couple of them actually run into one of the teenagers helping us. It wasn't a bad accident, but only because the kid got mostly out of the way.

There is also another disturbing trend. Those who are union workers or big speakers often will not want to park where all the other folks park. It is not all of them, certainly. But it is discouraging when it happens.

Some of the folks even seem to hold grudges over the parking for the whole campmeeting!

It is sad that, but it does happen just like you have said it.

I should add that the vasy majority of people that attend Camp obey the parking attendants and cause no trouble at all.

We would have had close to 10,000 people come onto the grounds on Sabbath, that is a lot of cars coming through the front gate.

They have to have rules there for emergancies, Camp roads have to be kept free from parked cars at all times in case of an emergancy.

I had a blessed Sabbath today. A great christian group called Endless Praise (EP), came and did the worship music at our church. A truly blessed experience. They'd already been to our church before but still, I like them. Here's their website if you want to check it out:

www.epraise.com.au

This is a great thread. It dosn't get used during the week, but get's bounced up on Sabbath. I'm PMing Sophia7 to make this a stickie. PM her to if you agree with me.
