HAPPY SABBATH FROM ME TOO!!
but now what ?

Well it is early Sabath morning here and we will be off to Sabbath School and Church.

We are havibng a guest preacher come and take our service today. He used to be our minister until he was shifted to another Church not too far away so we often get him back to take a service.

We all liked him and get on well with him.

After Church we will be having a combined lunch, no doubt catch up on things with him.

Happy Sabbath from Australia!! I know the rest of the world isn't quite there yet, but I hope when it comes, it will be blessed and restful :)

(Shabbat Shalom, Feliz Sabado)

Fantastic to have another Aussie young person on board here at CF.

Not see you around but nevertheless good to have you here now.

Happy Sabbath to everyone.

It is early Sabbath morning here in Brisbane, still dark.

I notice that you come from the Lithgow/Bathurst area.

Along time ago now my family was in the first group of ten people that went over the Blue Mountains and settled in the Bathurst area.

They went onto settle in the Gulgong/Mudgee area and some are still there today.

I was running in Mudgee over thirty years ago now and was looking around the town and seen that one of the local dentists still had our family name.

After that we came home (Cooranbong) via Bathurst and drove over the famous race track. That was great to just drive over the track and just see try and imagine what it would be like to go around it at the high speeds that the cars and bikes do.

Although young at the time we did not even try to go as fast as they would be going at.

It would be very cold there now.

If I recall correctly you have a very famous Australian icon coming from your area. One of Australia's greats runners in M. Jackson from Lithgow. She was know in her day as the "Lithgow Flash" she ran so fast.

Blessings

Cliff

Happy Sabbath, everyone! We have a special prayer request this Sabbath. We have had very little rain and very hot weather this summer, and the farmers are worried about their crops. Many of our church members in this area are farmers and are dependent on good weather to make a living because they don't irrigate much around here. Our conference has designated tomorrow a day of prayer to ask God for rain. I know that some of you from Australia have been dealing with drought as well, and for much longer than we have. Perhaps we could pray for each other.

You are right about the drought out here, nearly 15 years.

1992 was the last time the local dam was full, it is now about 7 percent and not looking good at all.

Everyone in the past has thought, "when thge wet season comes around things will be OK"

The wet season has not come for years now.

I picked up some church members to take them to our Church and I asked as we drove past some big dairy farms that had no cows on them, "where are all the cows"

Another farm closed down due to lack of water and feed.

We sure need to pray for each other.

G'day Matty

Have a few good friends in Mackay, our former Church Pr. retired there a few years ago.

Now he can really preach. Then had another friend go back there to live.

A lot of good people come out of Mackay.

Plenty of Island people live in that area and used to play football with a few of them. We had one guy that could run so fast. At training I used to think, "no worries I can catch him" I could not even catch his shadow when it was getting longer, let alone catch him.

We had a very wet Sabbath here. It was interesting dashing between buildings trying to stay dry.The Sabbath School lesson discussion was a bit of a contreversial one (Jewlery and Chistians), but everyone in the class agreed with the study. We managed to get the quiet boys talking a bit more, which was good. The speaker who took the service, and gave us a very good message about what our righteousness is, and how we can obtain it, and how we can dispel the 'idea' that we gain righteousness without actually having to submit all of our life to Christ. Some of the kids of the speaker played a special item, which was nice. It was funny watching them, as they don't use the music, and they were looking around at everyone.Just at the end of the service, an elderly lady collapsed at the organ, and they had to take her out to the back room, till the ambulance arrived. Apparently it was something to do with low blood pressure, poor thing It was a rather abrupt ending to the service, as no one could really concentrate after that.It started reaaaaly pouring after the service, so everyone dashed off pretty quickly. In-gathering was off for the day, but some people are going to do it during the week I think, as well as next weekend.
