  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

INNER PEACE
By Vernon Grounds

"Be courteous; not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing" 1 Peter 3:8

How do we react to hostile criticism? If it causes us to angrily strike back at out critics, we need to learn from colonial preacher Jonathan Edwards. (1703-1758)

Regarded by scholars as an insightful philosopher, Edwards was vindictively attacked by the ruling body of his church in Northampton, Massachusetts. They felt he was wrong to teach that a person needed to be born again before taking part in the Lord’s Supper.

Although he was dismissed from his church, Edwards still maintained a loving and forgiving attitude. One supportive member wrote of him, " I never saw the least symptoms of displeasure in his countenance. . . , but he appeared like a man of God, whose happiness was out of the reach of his enemies."

Edwards was simply copying the example of the Lord Jesus. When the Savior was insulted, He did not repay with an insult. When He was falsely denounced, He remained silent "as a sheep before its shearers is silent" (Isa.57:3).

Do you have inner peace even when criticized? As you ask the Holy Spirit for His help, you can, as Edwards did, respond in a Christlike way to false accusations or gossip.

1.) Are any of you using the New Daily Sabbath School Lesson Study in the Bible Study sub-forum?

2. Would any of you like to have other SS Lessons posted, ie., Young Adult, Youth, and lower age group SS Lessons?

Please let us know by posting here or in the SS Lesson Study thread.

Your brother in Christ,
Doc

YAY, SABBATH STARTS TONIGHT!!!! ^_^ I am so happy the week's over. Happy Sabbath to all!

Our Sabbath is over as well as the first day of teh week, all so fast.

If anyone in Australia or the South Pacific Division has a chance to have Pr Barry Crabtree come and speak at your Church, I suggest that you grab that chance with both hands.

He spoke at our Church yesterday and was very good. He used John 4 as his Scripture passage.

Hope you guys had a good Sabbath. Mine was a struggle. :( I can't wait to keep them in the Kingdom..where Satan doesn't try and ruin it.

Here we again starting out another Sabbath.

The good news is that it is raining, not real heavy but still rain.

Due to the drought in Australia we will take anything that even looks like rain now.
