Erwin, I was wondering if you could respond to a few questions. Please understand that these are real questions and not rhetorical or combative in nature. I am not sure that I (along with others here) understand the true nature of the Mission of FM:
1. What does "Christian Principles" mean? I mean, is this limited to the commonly toted "judeo-christian" values. What does "Christian" mean here? Is there/are there any theological priniciple(s) guiding this term (to say WHO Jesus is, what is the nature of God, etc and what this means for the world according to FM? Before this was more or less well-outlined by using the Nicene Creed as this standard. What guides that now? Or is this last part a moot point as "Christian Principles" is moreso of a soley virtuous moral nature and not also of a theological nature. In which case I would have to ask what makes nice, loving Muslim people any less Christian than a Catholic or a Lutheran (They believe in Jesus Christ).
2. If the basic ideas of what consititutes a Christian have NOT changed here (ie, Muslims, Jewish people and even Mormons and Jehovah's witnesses are not Christians), which I am not assuming is still true but am stating that this was the view of the former CF domain per Erwin's management and categorizing of forums, how do you hope that this new set up will bring people to Christ? Don't get me wrong, I am not saying that there is only ONE set up for a forum to help bring others to Christ. What confuses me though (and this now ties into my first point) is how our Goal here can be to bring others to Christ when Christ is (seemingly) left completely undefined and so honestly, like never before, the universalists, the Mormons, the JWs, and the Baptists all have the same WORDED goal, but yet, how we define the central part of that goal (Christ) is completely different.
Perhaps I am missing something.
I'm not trying to debate this at all. Of course I have my own opinions and I am not looking to be convince or convince anyone else of anything. I am only looking to understand, period. So, please, anyone, don't debate with me. Feel free to tell me "Hey, you missed this part here" or "Hey, this question of yours is irrelevant because you failed to notice this here..." or whatever. Anything to better inform my questions is welcomed. Ignoring my question is welcome. But most of all, what I am looking for, is an answer from someone here who has official clout (ie, Erwin or anyone who works directly with Erwin in decision making). I trust that if someone here gives an answer pretending to have some official clout, that Erwin will correct that post.
John
