I take the comment:

To be a pretty explicit that he cares more for what the Bible says than what God's creation shows.

Well, I don't agree with him that because the bible doesn't specifically mention planets that God didn't create them, but that doesn't mean he cares more for what God says in His word than what He shows through His Creation.

Again; then that's on you. I read his comments how I read it, and since he's not alone in the whole "The Bible doesn't say this, therefore it's not part of the world!", I'm putting him in that same boat.

God is a perfect communicator, so just like The Gospel of John. Which is the only book of The Bible written specifically to tell people how to have life (eternal life) John 20:31.
God did not include the act of repentance in The Gospel of John when stating what a person must do to receive God's free gift of Eternal Life salvation. Just belief in Jesus

Why because repentance is not a condition, just belief in Jesus. So just like the example found in John about repentance. God is perfectly capable of having communicated that in Genesis 1, if He had created planets to include them in Genesis 1

Then God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so. Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also. God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth,

For His mercy endures forever—
The sun to rule by day,

And that means nothing, since just because the writers of the Bible didn't know what the sun were stars and stars are suns does not mean that they aren't. Human knowledge has progressed MASSIVELY in the last few thousand years.

And in the end, the Earth is still round. As God created it.

I notice when googled "round" no images of a sphere show.

That is something that person who is from dude perfect stated after his trip up and back down. He said the earth is round, a perfect circle. Nothing about the earth being a sphere.

I also believe the stars are going to fall to earth, so they are not very big or far away.
