Joel 2:31
the terrible day of the Lord

why is it coming after so many have died?

The day of the Lord is a name for the 7 year tribulation which concludes with the return of The Messiah (Jesus) to defeat Israel's enemies satan, the man of sin and the false prophet plus all of their followers.

In future event large numbers of humanity will lose their life from wars and judgments sent from God.

Never mentioned any thing about an end, actually after the tribulation their is the 1000 reign of The Messiah. Then the eternal state with the new heaven and earth.

If the earth is flat, is Australia underneath?
The 2004 Helsinki study revealed Australians have a higher than average intracranial blood pressure due to blood flow to the head and is irrefutable evidence for a flat Earth.

Plus, the stars are all different. Clearly what the ancient Israelites got wrong was that there are *2* domes "above" opposite sides of the flat disk of the Earth. A bit of Northern-bias on their part, but quite understandable. We must have "flipped sides" on our flight while we were sleeping. Sneaky airlines.

It's very disappointing the Earth isn't flat.
From Australia I am unable to image a large number of decent sized bright galaxies which are accessible from the Northern hemisphere.
Likewise Northern hemisphere observers at latitudes greater than 25 degrees can't see the spectacular regions such as the Southern Cross or the Magellanic Clouds.
The centre of our galaxy is directly overhead from my site during the winter months.

The Southern Cross always looks like a kite to me. I guess that makes the Coalsack the "Kite-eating tree" of the sky.

If your head is pointing toward the center of the Galaxy then you truely are upside down. (v. nice image!)

As gobsmacked as I was at seeing Machu Picchu when we went to Peru, seeing the Magellanic Clouds was an unanticipated smack in the gob.

Atheists believe in evolution. I share nothing of their beliefs and yet I also highly doubt the earth is flat. Ask the majority of creationists what shape the world is, you know most will say it is round. I am a creationist, I tend to (take note I said tend to) think the world is probably (notice again my probably) round. I am leaving a tiny 1% chance of it being flat or some other odd but still rounded shape. Perhaps its actually a ball that has been squashed so is not round or flat.
Does this interfere with my belief in 6 day creation? Not at all.

Genesis 1 does not say circular and flat, those are your added words. If it said it was flat I would believe it too. Unfortunately it simply isn't there.

Nothing about 'circle of the earth' indicates flatness either.

Nor does foundation indicate flatness, if the earth sat on a foundation I would expect it to be sitting upon something. Yet we know it sits upon nothing. Job 26:7
He spreads out the northern skies over empty space; he suspends the earth over nothing.
So foundation implies something else. What that implies is really quite open for interpretation.

Its amazing how Christian flat earth believers badly interpret scripture to suit their incomprehensible beliefs!

Not necessarily. Atheists don't believe in a god or gods, period.

So you know atheists who don't believe the world came to be through evolution?

What is the alternative? Aliens seeded it? Then who created the aliens?

Creation or evolution, what else is there?

I don't know - maybe - it's not something that generally comes up in conversation.

I don't know - maybe it's aliens all the way down... You'd have to ask them. There have been many godless creation beliefs through history.

Creation or evolution, what else is there?
People that don't know or care?

Being an atheist doesn't give me insight into, or knowledge of, what other atheists think or believe, other than that they don't believe in a god or gods.
