Are we to take it that you DNA is unaltered by (only) mRNA vaccines or have you eschewed the polio vax as well?

Well, yeah, that is how immunity works.

That's been the way immunity works since viruses have been around.

Every infectious disease doctor, epidemiologist, and public health official I know -- and I know a lot -- is vaccinated and gets boosters when they're available. I have no doubt that one can find some expert somewhere who thinks, well, almost anything, but the absolutely overwhelming consensus among experts is that the mRNA vaccines are highly safe and highly effective. Getting boosted is clearly much less important than getting some kind of primary immunity (either from vaccination or from infection), but there is no doubt that boosting is useful for reducing the risk of severe disease and very likely useful for reducing the risk of long Covid.

I wouldn't get a booster till the Cleveland Clinic or some other reputable scientists follow up on their study earlier this year.

Also....wayyyyy way too many young athletes dropping down from cardiac arrest. We know they all got their shots.

None of this has any long term tests.

Given the nature of that study, and given my experience with the difficulties in doing precisely that kind of assessment of the effect of covid boosters based on observational data, I don't think the study tells us anything at all about the effects of boosters on infection risk. I'll get another booster as soon as one is available. I'm pretty sure my two young adult sons won't do so, which I think is a perfectly reasonable decision.
Also....wayyyyy way too many young athletes dropping down from cardiac arrest.
Data, please?

I'm glad you didn't mention that variants are weakening, since I'm not aware of any evidence that they are. As far as I know, all of the Omicron strains have been similar in virulence, making them less virulent than Delta and roughly on a par with the original virus.
The illness' past hallmarks, such as a dry cough or the loss of sense of taste or smell, have become less common. Instead, doctors are observing milder disease, mostly concentrated in the upper respiratory tract.

It isn’t the same typical symptoms that we were seeing before. It’s a lot of congestion, sometimes sneezing, usually a mild sore throat," said Dr. Erick Eiting, vice chair of operations for emergency medicine at Mount Sinai Downtown in New York City.

"Just about everyone who I've seen has had really mild symptoms," Eiting said of his urgent care patients, adding, "The only way that we knew that it was Covid was because we happened to be testing them."

Right. Immunity works that way. Not some unspecified "protection" externally conferred; remember, the meaning of "vaccine" was changed to "induces protection" because they knew full well it didn't provide immunity, which is what an actual vaccine does/did.

Those with immunity will not get sick (again). Natural immunity is long lasting and durable, per Nature Science journal.

And, as was completely predictable:
"Feb. 17, 2023 -- The natural immunity provided by a COVID infection protects a person against severe illness on a par with two doses of mRNA vaccine, a new study says.

People who've been infected with COVID reduced their chances of hospitalization and death by 88% over 10 months compared to somebody who hasn't been infected, says the study, published in The Lancet. "

I got the initial vaccines and the first booster, but I'll be sitting this one out, too. I would get it if I was in any kind of risk group or were working closely with other people. I don't doubt the efficiency or safety of the vaccine.

I should probably start wearing masks in stores again, though. Flu season is upon us, too.

Which tells me nothing at all about whether the virus itself is less virulent or the population has acquired more immunity by now. If you will recall, the original Omicron variant was touted as causing less severe disease (and it did, compared to Alpha or Delta), but it still caused a horrific death toll when it moved into a large immune-naive population in Hong Kong.

There is no mechanism that in general makes viruses cause less severe disease over time. If a virus causes really severe disease most of time, it may face selection pressure to cause more mild disease, but SARS-Cov-2 has never been in that category.

Right. Immunity works that way.
Yes. I hope you realize that vaccines work by triggering the immune system, too.
remember, the meaning of "vaccine" was changed to "induces protection" because they knew full well it didn't provide immunity, which is what an actual vaccine does/did.
I can't remember things that I know are false. No vaccine, including covid vaccines, provides 100% protection against infection or severe disease. They never have.
Those with immunity will not get sick (again).
So infection-acquired immunity is 100%?
"Feb. 17, 2023 -- The natural immunity provided by a COVID infection protects a person against severe illness on a par with two doses of mRNA vaccine, a new study says.
Wait, now I'm confused. Infection produces immunity and two doses of vaccine produces a similar level of protection as infection, therefore vaccination doesn't produce immunity? Huh?
People who've been infected with COVID reduced their chances of hospitalization and death by 88% over 10 months compared to somebody who hasn't been infected, says the study, published in The Lancet. "
Which is very similar to the reduction in the chance of hospitalization and death seen with vaccination. Make up your mind: is this immunity or not?

Some number have a natural immunity NOT from getting sick , but from having a healthy immune system, a healthy mind and body, to START WITH.
Some of them Got Sick if they took a jab, so they learned to avoid them.
They maintain a stronger immune system, a healthier body and mind, through prayer and good nutrition as they have learned from others and from experience.

We learned long ago in school that that could be just juggling statistics - with statistics whatever someone wants to prove can be shown, even totally contradictory things!

"So infection-acquired immunity is 100%?"

And natural immunity too.
At least always shown to be better than artificial acquired .....

In grade school and high school we learned that adults who had certain diseases as an infant or as a child, had lifetime immunity.
In college and later, and medical school,
we learned that artificial-acquired immunity often did not last more than six months or a year,
and sometimes not even six weeks.

In your earlier years, more than five years ago, i.e. also while growing up,
did you wear a mask ?
I remember not seeing masks in school, in grocery stores, not even in doctor's offices or in hospitals , before five years ago....

I learned long ago to pay more attention to data than to people's opinions.

Last December/or maybe January this year, there was in the news pictures of a King and Queen
of one of the Pacific Nations (in the Pacific Ocean I think),
a happy healthy picture... but sadly in the news because the Queen had just died, after a healthy life together with all the benefits of Royalty.
Business men who had a history of healthy also are dropping around the world , not just athletes.

Which diseases did you learn about that have 6 weeks immunity from vaccination and lifetime immunity from infection?
