It's true. Any girl who says she's waiting for marriage will be ridiculed. Girls are taught to get self worth from being in a relationship.
I find that more girls, with each generation, are being taught to find value in themselves and that they are empowered to thrive with or without a relationship. At least outside of conservative circles.

-it's said that the reversal falls heavily on poor people who will now have children they can ill avoid to have & families will fall deeper into poverty
please don't say well they should know better/not have more kids cause it doesn't work that way

I think adoption should be promoted & heavily promoted for such families
we had a local Pastor who promoted adoption & one hundred families from the church stepped up to adopt

the problem is SO many Christians wanted roe vs wade overturned yet these same Christians NEVER step up
only 5% of Christians have adopted children

come on Christians step up and act
look into adopting a child!

Nowhere does it say that you're required to have sex to live life. Take responsibility for your life, and stop demanding that other people pay for your own mistakes and decisions. If poor people can't afford childcare... maybe they shouldn't be having sex since sex is the main source of producing offspring. Sex is not supposed to be for pure pleasure. It's to procreate new life. Sex addiction is real. It definitely needs to be addressed, especially people's crippling addiction to pornography that leads them to sex due to fantasies that people get from watching porn.

Sex is more than pleasure or reproduction, it is also a very integral component for pair bonding. Romantic relationships, kept celibate, are highly likely to wither and die.

So much for the sexual revolution all it did was produce unwanted kids that people just wanted to abort, what a great accomplishment.

I'd rather live with the sexual revolution and all its consequences, than in a society like the 1950's where people were made to feel ashamed for things that are perfectly natural.

Not necessarily. Sex is important, but a relationship can wither and die despite having good sex. If good sex is all they have going for them, the relationship won't work. Sex or the lack there of doesn't make or break a relationship. That's like saying a marriage with no children won't last. There is no one thing that will make or break a relationship or marriage. If one partner gets sick or hurt or has ED and can no longer have sex, doesn't mean the marriage will die. If sex is all that's holding a relationship or marriage together, then they are already in trouble. I like sex and sex is good, but it's not EVERYTHING.

Lack of sex ruins relationships all the time. Is it the most important part, no, but necessary for the majority of couples, yes.

People weren't made to feel ashamed of sex within marriage, they were made to feel ashamed of sex outside of marriage, adultery and homosexuality. The sexual revolution is what freed up and empowered fornication, adultery, homosexuality and pedophilia because they taught people whatever you feel sexually is okay and good no matter what. Just go with what you feel and don't be ashamed. That's what opened the door to all of the sexual deviances, and fetishes and all kinds of crazy things like sexually driven serial killers who got sexual pleasure from torture and killing people because the sexual revolution taught them to not be ashamed of any kind of sexual deviancy. Not to mention the porn industry which is full of nothing but sexual deviancy. Some people are sick, and what held back the floodgates of the madness was people being made to feel ashamed of sex outside of marriage. The devil loves to ruin things God created that's beautiful. Sex is good and beautiful but people worship sex as the be all end all of existence.

That is not true... not true at all. If the relationship is true, and the love is real... sex is the last thing. This is what I mean about needing to rewire our brains so that sex isn't a priority. Our society is obsessed and addicted to sex... pornography is a $97 billion industry.

If sex ruins the relationship then the relationship was bound to fail anyway.

People need to get back to reading the bible and welcome God back into their lives.

you're absolutely right. Serial Killer Ted Bundy had a brief discussion about how he was obsessed with porn .. the video explains the rest.

Nonsense. Gay sex has always existed, but the "sexual revolution" let them know that they could be more out in the open. Which might have been a mistake, since I've known several gay and lesbian people assaulted by Christians.

And adultery and pedophilia have never been generally accepted in society. In a 2017 poll, only 9% of respondents thought adultery was ok. No one asked about pedophilia, because no one would have said it was ok.

The problem is the source of so many unwed people having unplanned children.
What's your proposal. Banning sex? Or more sensibly are you suggesting that condoms and other forms of contraception should be made easily available at schools in addition to open and frank sex education discussions.

Of course that wnt address those who MUST have abortions - eg a woman who finds herself pregnant but has cervical cancer warranting hysterectomy.

Yeah... this isn't the 1980's anymore, it's more of a post-sexual-revolution society where people are starting to be more mature in their views of sex and relationships. Unless you are a sex addict, people aren't measuring your worth in terms of hookups.

That is such a falsehood that Christians "never step up. It's the red herring logical fallacy, that if one doesn't do X, one cannot support Y.

One most decidedly can support the idea that it is bad public policy to advocate elimination for any reason of unwanted offspring, and still not be in a position to adopt (perhaps elderly, or disabled or already has a bunch of kids).

That's a deflection actually from the main premise that abortion kills humans, and killing is wrong.

The airwaves are flooded with logical fallacies right now. Not surprised that the points are being repeated but they simply are not factual.

(To address your red herring, Christians/those of various faiths actually DO start and support charities and give a lot of money.)

What percentage of children have been adopted by Christians?
Well, perhaps there are more recent stats, but this is what I was able to find at a cursory review, but be aware this does not address the main premise of whether abortion is wrong:

"Practicing Christians are more than twice as likely to adopt than the general population.

While Christians have built a reputation for many of the things they are against, adoption and foster care are emerging as a cause they are for. While only 2% of all Americans have adopted, this rises to 5% among practicing Christians. Practicing Christians are much more likely than others to have seriously considered adoption—38% of practicing Christians say they have, compared to 26% of all adults."

More recently confirmed here - 5% of Christians as opposed to 2% of all others: Who Adopts the Most?

Humm.... So when you look at the big picture, it looks like Christians have stepped up!
