My thoughts on the Jack/Juliet and Kate/Sawyer thing (because shipping is all that matters in the end, lol) is that Jack is still smarting for from the whole "caught in a net/cage" thing. I believe said, "I love you" to explain to her why he told her not to come back for her. The way he said it made me think he was being a little sarcastic. He says it and just walks off. It made me think he wasn't very serious about what he said. The reason he put it in the present tense is that you can't just stop loving someone

I have a question in the flashback (or flashforward) we see Jack telling the doctor something along the lines of, "Bring my father downstairs, and if I'm drunker than he I'll quit."

It's his Father dead?

thats exactly what i was wondering..if it was a flash forward..why does jack speak as if his dad is alive?? is jack that far gone?

I'll definitely miss Charlie, it just seems so boneheaded that he died like that, all he had to do was slip out the door real quick then close it and he'd have been fine!

lol when Desmond said there were diving suits, charlie was like "you go get them and i'll flip the switch" , I was litereally yelling at my tv "NOOOOO PUT THE SUIT ON FIRST AND THEN DEAL WITH THE SWITCH, YOU ARE NOT INVINCIBLE!!!"

Not really. The door only locked from the inside. If it was lockable/unlockable from the outside, Desmond wouldn't have been trying to break through the porthole.

I have this ...growing suspicion... that the lostaways get ...`rescued'... (or at least taken off the island) early next season.

My suspicion, stated earlier, is that the lostaways `rescue' - even that of Desmond - was incidental to the real reason for Naomi's team being in the area. In one of his few possibly truthfull comments ever (as supported by the extreme measures he undertook in response) Ben said something to the effect of `these people have been trying to find this island for a long time'. That spiel was the entire reason for his solo meeting with Jack, and his apparent motivation for having the `Looking Glass' jamming device activated. Now...Naomi probably wasn't at the top of the heap on her search team, and might have been kept in the dark as to what they were really looking for. Naomi's bunch probably does remove at least some of the lostaways - but on the condition they keep quiet.

Jacks `flash-forward' would be actual snippits from next season. He, and maybe a few of the other lostaways, really want to go *back* to the island.

I have a suspicion that some of the `lost experience' stuff might start getting tangled up in this. Maybe `Rachel Blake' gets involved? Maybe some of the people plotting with/against Hanso are lostaways?

Also...nobody seems to have brought this up yet...but the `temple' refered to by Ben and some of the `Others' was marked on their maps with a pyramid. No such ediface was visible where Lockes father was tied up at; hence the temple must be another location.

This explains why Kate shows little concern/interest in the person at the funeral. While it was somebody that was close to both of them on the island, Kate has no memory of the individual.

Who was in the casket, that nobody came to see? Sawyer? Perhaps Jack, Kate and Sawyer were the only ones to get off the island in ONE attempt and now Kate (pregnant or not (Would have been Sawyer's Right?)) found out about Sawyers involvement with what's her name (Remember their connected from before-the girl Sawyer did supposedly have a baby by and left the snitch money)...and is still angered or Maybe it was Sawyer who would be wondering where she was...Maybe the 3 of them left the rest of the losties and that's why they are lying--Kate may have claimed to be another person with no relatives upon coming home--but ya''ll did get they were going BACK, right?

If I were a writer I could take this in several directions, so-- o I can only imagine what the pros will do..

I think because of Charlie's past experiences with Desmond's visions (Desmond saves him, and things turn out worse because of it), he had one or both of two things going through his mind:

1. Desmond had already succeeded in saving him, so there's no need for caution. As it's happened before, he didn't feel the need to second-guess himself.

2. He realized that doing anything differently because of Desmond's visions would have an adverse effect.

ABOUT JACK'S DAD (CHRISTIAN)

Sorry, I feel like people keep missing the discussion on it

Here is what we know:

1. Christian has been seen on the island earlier in the show.
2. The scenes this week were post-island, not pre-island.
3. Cusaloff have said (more than once) that Christian is certainly dead (but he "may be using the word 'dead' in a sense we [the audience] don't fully understand yet." - unknown whether that was a serious comment or not).
4. There has never been an instance - or hint - of someone coming back to life on the show.
5. His body is in an unknown location.


Here are the different theories people believe:

1. He was never dead.
2. The island/Others brought him back to life.
3. The flash forward was a POSSIBLE future, which could be changed. In this version of the future, Christian is alive (unknown as to what changed for him to be alive).
4. Christian is dead, and Jack was making reference to the fact that his father was an alcoholic, but was never fired for it. (Or is delusional due to emotional trauma and/or drugs.)


I personally believe #4. I think this lines up with the looks on the doctors' faces. This also lines up with Jack not wanting the pharmacist to call his father's office.

I think this is an important statement. IF the writers have decided who's in the coffin, they can still change it. Personally I'm not putting too much stock in the words on the newspaper clipping, that could be explained away a few different ways.

They are all in the Matrix and the others are the "Johnsons" trying to keep them there because they need them in order for the island (Matrix) to survive. This would explain their super human power.

Jack is the "One" who can save them.

Be hard to change it too much tho when the obit. definitely said MAN from NY with a name beginning with JO or JA. Not too many possibilities unless we haven't met this person yet.

1. The newspaper clipping was just a prop, and people being able to partly read it was a mistake (hard to believe, but possible).
2. That future was changed.
3. It was a fake identity adopted post-crash (or even pre-crash as well, but we just don't know yet).

I'm sure there are other possibilities...
