my son read somewhere yesterday that LOST doesn't come back until FEBRUARY.

Yup, but then they are running it straight through until May with no repeats and no off-weeks. I much prefer that to the six-episode pod they did this past fall, and then weeks to wait before the season starts up for real.

Wow you guys have so many great observations in here! A few of my comments...

• I do think it looked like maybe Jin behind Jack on the plane. I still have it on tape so I'll have to go back and look at it again.
• Charlie's death was poetic and beautiful, but so dang terrible! He was one of my favourite characters, and for sure one of the best actors on the show. I hope they bring him back in various other ways at least (flashbacks, etc.)
• Also, does anyone else think Sawyer has gone off the deep end? Just seems to me maybe killing Locke's father has done something to him - changed him.
• The future flashes of Kate could suggest that she took on someone else's (a crash victim's) identity after they were rescued, and maybe even that is what Jack is tired of lying about.
• My best guess is that it's either Ben or Locke in the coffin. But I'm still really not sure. I liked the thought that it could be Jacob.
• Very interesting idea about the whole island story being someone's flashback. If it is, my money is on Hurley.
• And finally, yep I think Kate is pregnant. She wasn't even slightly surprised by Juliet's comments on the tape, etc. I think the real shock will be whose baby it is. Remember when she was captured and Ben made her wear that dress and meet with him on the beach? Gross, I know. But I always wondered if he blackmailed her into sleeping with him before she was locked in the cage.

I never even thought about that, but it makes sense, considering that she wasn't in jail, or anything (US Marshall's wouldn't forgive her just b/c she survived a plane crash)

One thing - I was thinking about last night - noone seemed to care much that Naomi was killed, they all seemed to care more that Locke did it. Noone ran to her, they all just stared at Locke. (maybe they are just getting used to deaths)
