Great episode!!!!

So I'm not so smart with some of the science stuff, but I'm guessing "the sickness" is this conscience time traveling thing. But why doesn't it affect everyone? or does it and some just don't travel too far and so they just have like "deja vu" type stuff. Or the wrecked plane can act as their "constant"?

Anyway it was really good.

The dialogue between Desmond and Penny almost brought me to tears...

And that's saying a lot considering what a tough strong man I am!!!

They mentioned Desmond's exposure to radioactivity or electromagnetic energy as a factor. Seems to be why everyone is not effected. He and Locke and Ecko were in the station when the the pulse went of and blew it up. Locke could be experiencing the same thing.

i wonder who Ben's man on the boat is? He apparently opened the door and is helping Sayid and Desmond!

Why did Desmond get stuck in the time travel continuum but Sayid and the pilot did not?

That was awesome when Faraday looked in his journal and it said "If anything goes wrong Desmond Hume will be your constant". Now that Desmond talked with Faraday in 1996 will it change everythign Faraday now knows and understands in 2004 on the island?

Interesting that Minkowski said that Penny kept calling the boat and he was told not to answer!

I was thinking...is Charlie one of the Oceanic 8 (obviously not the 6)?? Since Penny spoke with Charlie before he died..when they all go back with their fake story will desmond have to stick to the story..how will he explain Charlie if not him being one of the oceanic 8?

The Black Rock was being discussed during that auction. Does anyone remember what year they said it had set sail? I'd like to know what's written in that journal, and I'm beginning to think that this is the bossman that everyone's been alluding to.

Yeah I'm a little confused on this one as well.

But overall it was a really great episode. I'll look for interesting tidbits on lostpedia and I'll post anything I find.

Meanwhile my mother apparently decided to start watching the show (they are visiting from out of town)- and she decided the season premiere of season 3 would be a good time to "get into it". So now she really loves the show but she's so confused She watched it with us last night and her questions were so funny. She thought Benry (we were filling her in on some old stuff) was the leader of Oceanix 815ers

I was very moved...tears in my eyes...when Desmond and Pen were speaking on the phone. Wow, and it was Christmas Eve too. (Sayid figured that one out fast...or he/they have really been keeping track of the dates. And, although I already knew she would answer, since we know she's looking for him....it is amazing that she would answer....after 8 years!!!! Yikes....maybe she knows some things about this time-shifting stuff by now too.

My husband thinks that the journal Pen's dad bought holds the time-travel secrets. That was very weird to hear the reference Hanso during the auction. (Why did her dad leave the water running?)

Wasn't Desmond in Australia, in the armed services? So...does that mean he went "AWOL" to go to London to try to see Pen? I mean, that's not a close trip, but any means. I'm a bit confused about that part.

Yeah, Red, I agree....Sayid's great at it....it's just it was asked earlier why Sayid didn't tell about Desmond. It made sense to me....don't tell anything you don't absolutely have to.

I was amazed Desmond was able to hear Faraday at all. Also that he, Sayid and the other guy were able to walk around so freely and that no one ever caught up with them once they "escaped". That really surprised me.

Well, what about the thing with Ben bringing Locke's father there...in his magic box?

And yeah, someone else made a really good point about Juliette coming there...and them saying she wouldn't want to be awake for it.


Oh!!!! Was anyone else reminded of the Star Trek, Next Gen epi when they are in a time loop and Data has to "remember" to get them out of it. My husband was saying this epi was reminding him of that one.
