Gold River is far from alone in wanting to cash in on faith-based mobile content but their intention to "...increase its delivery to 220 countries" by October 2007 seems optimistic when the most generous estimates put the total number of countries in the world at 194.

Ignoring the snarky tone of the piece, all I can say is, "Why not?" I mean, we can get "christian" everything else. I would like to hear a better voice reading a scripture, kind of like a James Earl Jones wannabe.

I've heard some pretty strange stuff put as a ring tone, ranging from a cat yowling to a human "gas expulsion", to a computer voice saying "Warning, warning! Your mommy is calling. Act cool." It doesn't surprise me that some one would want to hear a piece from their favorite christian band. Not my cup of tea, but some one likes it...

Cashing in on the ringtones, eh? I've finally started just making my own. It's cheaper and I get what I want, the options my provider gives you to download are overpriced and they have little to nothing I like. That's what I get for eclectic tastes in music

But seriously, $3 for someone reading a Bible verse? That seems pretty extravagant
