Kinda funny cuz wasn't that what 2 months ago that I was defending OEC here?

Anyhow, I am 34 and for most of my life minus 2 months I believed humans were specially created. It was hard for me to picture the big picture. Because you look at a family of animals now like reptiles, birds, mammals and they seem so fixed. It wasn't until my internet friend showed me pictures of intermediate animals like the pangolin that I started to say well maybe. I never thought it was impossible just because I couldn't picture it before but I don't accept things w/o understanding them.

But I remember before I accepted the ToE sometimes looking at a monkey and feeling a vague uneasiness. I know this sounds silly to people who have always known everything about everything.

Any how that is my confession of a former Creationist. I still don't get why people are typing on the internet and the rest of the animal world is out there in the woods and in pens, and pastures. I think that one explanation is that complex social settings select for intelligence. But then dogs like my dog have been in human society for 40,000 years and he is smart but not sentient.

I know that makes no sense.

How is a dog not sentient?

I was using sentient in this context

sentient

(dictionary,com)
adj 1: endowed with feeling and unstructured consciousness; "the living knew themselves just sentient puppets on God's stage"- T.E.Lawrence [syn: animate] [ant: insentient] 2: consciously perceiving; "sentient of the intolerable load"; "a boy so sentient of his surroundings"- W.A.White

Dogs are aware of and have feelings to an extent. But they are not consciously aware of the meaning of them.

I think this sort of minimization is part of the reason that some Creationists stay incredulous of the ToE.

If some philosphical naturalists are so certain that there are minimal differences between the rest of the animal world and the human animal(though there are an overwhelming number of similarities), than why not run around in the naked in the woods?

I'm not uncomfortable with the idea. My parents were primates, and thier parents before them, and their parents before them...

So what if a few millions of years down the line my ancestors were even more hairy than I am right now?

Dogs are aware of and have feelings to an extent. But they are not consciously aware of the meaning of them.

Heck of a claim to establish there, lilly!

I definitely approve of this post. If I'd be able to find my grand-grand-grand-grand parents who ever were so stupid to leave the trees, I'd kill them. *******s, I loved climbing trees when I was a kid (although I was a little scared of heights, double *******s!). And I love bananas too! I guess they just didn't know what they started.

Evolutionists should admit that the fossil evidence for human evolution, at least on its own, is unconvincing. Science education, especially in anthropology, should take note of this.

May peace be upon thee and with thy spirit.

I'm amazed you'd make a statement like this. What about the actual anthropologists out there that have already done the studies of our ancestry? Do you disagree with their results? If so, what purpose would studying anthropology serve in your view?

Hypothetically, this is like claiming 2+2=5 and that if someone doesn't believe you, you tell them to get a math education.

I while ago I saw some kids eating dog poo (or at least, sticking it in their mouths). There goes humanity :D ! I mean, at least dogs eat their own poo, in stead of some poo of unidentified origin.:p
