I bathe with Mr. Bubble:Do you live in a bubble?
So, did he turn the water into wine or grape juice?

Phil is simply drunk on "the Spirit"AVET has gone off the deep end so bad on this "grape juice" talk of his, that I now find myself agreeing 100% with KWCrazy!
NKJV)
1Sa 1:
14 So Eli said to her, "How long will you be drunk? Put your wine away from you!"
15 But Hannah answered and said, "No!, my lord, I [am] a woman of sorrowful spirit.
I have drunk neither wine nor intoxicating drink, but have poured out my soul before the LORD.
Eph 5:18
And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation,
but be filled with the Spirit,
I think wine is wine; always has been. If it didn't ferment and produce alcohol, then why is it written in Mark 2:22 "And no man puts new wine into old wineskins: else the new wine does burst the wineskins, and the wine is spilled, and the wineskins will be ruined: but new wine must be put into new wineskins?" It's the buildup of carbon dioxide leftove from the fermentation process that would burst the wine bottles. Having made my own wine and brewed my own beer, I'v seen this before. It has been said that the alcohol content was lower then and that may well be depending on the process they used.
In those days the milk wasn't pasteurized and the water wasn't always fresh. Wine would store a long time and remain bacteria free. The Bible says to be not drunk with wine, but it doesn't condemn all consumption. Wine has many health benefits; some of which we are just now discovering. 1 Timothy 5:23, "Drink no longer water only, but use a little wine for your stomach's sake and your frequent illnesses." There is no preclusion to the consumption of wine, only to drunkenness.
What does all of this mean for the modern Christian? If you don't wish to consume alcohol then don't, because the fluids we have to choose from now are cleaner and healthier than 2,000 years ago. If you do wish to consume alcohol in moderation, then there is nothing wrong with it. However, it IS a sin to get drunk and defile the temple of God; which is what your body is considered. If you can't stop at one small glass "for your stomach's sake" then don't touch it at all. There's nothing wrong with either position.
And with this discussion, AV has punged into new depths of dumb. You guys are of course free to follow him there.
Next to where it says smoking Camel filters is a sin.
You are very welcome.
Mr. Valentine, who used to post here under another name, and is the author of a very prominent Internet protocol, can now be hoisted by his own petard.
I thought this was a forum comedy get-together.
You mean to tell me a serious discussion is to take place???

The "great gulf" mentioned by Abraham is nothing less than God's blinding in this age of the Jews as a whole to the truth about their Messiah!LUKE 16:
23 "And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom."
26 "And besides all this, between us and ye there is a great chasm fixed, so that those who want to pass from here to you cannot, nor can those from there ferry to us."
Moses didn't write GEN 1-2, Adam did -- in English.
-- Oh boy.
Let me guess.
In your opinion, the writer of the book of James was not Jesus' brother ... correct?
Correct, the epistle of James never once mentions that he is the half brother of Jesus, which is odd, since stating so would have given him a certain amount of credibility otherwise not available to the average Joe.
In fact, the book of James never mentions any first person accounts of Jesus or even sounds like he knew anyone named Jesus.
Of course this makes sense given the fact that James wasn't even penned until about two hundred years after the supposed life of "Jesus."
English ~ the lost language of ancient times....
Gen 11:9
Therefore its name is called Babel, because there the LORD confused the language of all the land.
And from there the LORD scattered them abroad over the face of all the land.
rt that claim, or are you just playing the fundy atheistic flipside role of the guy that claims that everything in the Bible is authentic and true?
