I see no reason why not.

Animals cannot make a decision to reject Christ as their Saviour, and their actions are carried out according to God's plan for that species. Like children, animals are innocents and I see nothing that would bar them from heaven.

But I see heaven as very like the Earth, but with all sin removed, so there is plenty of room for animals ^_^

well, the title pretty much sums up the question. thank you in advance for your answers.

there is mention of animals having a soul.. whether that is an eternal soul the bible is not specific... although there is mention of animals in the new world.. as it says that the lion will lie down next to the lamb.. i see no reason why the original plan, that had animals, and God said, "this is very good".. would not be the same in the future.. hope this helped..

Pets are without sin why should they not go to heaven?
I am sure that my dog has a soul, and souls will live forever, and the ones which are without sin will be with God...The bible tells us nothing about this because of their sinless nature they don't need the healing message of God....
that's what I believe

God created animals to be companions to Adam. It did not work out very well so God made woman. But somewhere along the way it seems people forgot why animals were created originally. Also there is a scripture that says God knows when a bird falls to the ground in death. If animals were not important to God those things would not have been written or told. There is also a scripture that says animals have a soul (the word soul and spirit have been confused). Man has a soul and a spirit but animals only have a soul. The soul is what supposedly quickens us to being alive. I am not sure how everything works but as a dog lover and having had many dogs over time I like to think God will allow me to have my animals in heaven.

But if God meant for animals to be Adam's friends in Paradise (Eden) then why not in heaven? That is the best I can do with this subject.

Awwww, this is a cute thread with all sorts of animal lovers. I'm an animal lover too, and I'm very excited about as Isaiah said "chillin' with cobras and lions and stuff" on the New Earth.

As far as pets going to heaven . . . hard to say, I suppose. I would probably have to lean towards no, because it's not definitively said that they were graced with an everlasting spirit. But, that's mostly a guess.

Maybe God has different plans for our companionship in heaven, who really knows?

Not sure this helped at all, but I sure do love animals . . . I'm a Siberian Husky guy myself. They're just so gorgeous!

I agree with all that was said in post #2, but in addition to that, Rev 21 talks about a new heaven and earth, with NO water. The water of Life and the Tree of Life will be restored in the New Jerusalem. Only those whose names are written in the Lamb's Book of Life will be allowed there, so it seems pets won't be allowed. Sorry. :sorry:

Animals go to heaven ... perhaps even in the rapture! (No mention of them after the rapture, in Revelation, though God continues to protect the trees and creatures in the sea). The verses escape me presently...but think about this: God created animals for the earth. He cared enough about them that he had Adam name them all! There are many good references in the Bible using animals, some in analogy (think LAMB). :) The reference to the millennial days when the lion will lie down with the lamb (meaning as it used to be, all grass eaters and no predators, safe for humans again) tell me they are still important to God, an important part of His creation. God cares for even the sparrows of the air. We all see the horrible destruction and death from Armageddon alone... if there was no heaven for animals I doubt God would allow the animals to die such a horrible death.

The answer is, the Scriptures are silent and I don't have a clue.

Who knows if the spirit of man rises upward and if the spirit of the animal goes down into the earth?" (Ecclesiastes 3:21)

That's the only Scripture that I could ever find on the topic and it's probably, if not obviously, unrelated. Some friends of mine who are into animal rescue are fond of saying that only animals are innocent. I find that sentiment as puzzling as the topic of discussion in this thread....still.....it is kind of interesting.

Grace and peace,
Mark

At one point, when Eve ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, we became infected with sin. Animals have not, yes there are situations where we believe they have done wrong. I have 2 kittens around 1 year old, and let me tell you they do plenty wrong. The thing is I know that they don't KNOW they are doing wrong, if I yell at them it only makes them more confused. In believe in their minds they are saying "but I don't understand why I should not eat the food you put on the table, when I know I am supposed to eat." I have realized that since God created us in His image, and he gave us dominion over the animals, that we are expected to treat them the same way we are treated by him, with love. So yes my cats make mistakes, but they "know not what they do", they innocently don't know because they have never been given the knowledge of good and evil.

One day when I am in Heaven, which is an eternal place, I believe that I will be able to have my pets with me if I wish. Since the word eternal basically defines something that is without limits, saying you cannot have your pets with you would go against it's core definition.

When my cat scratches something, he is doing what God wants him to do. Why? Because God knows that for the proper health of his claws, they need to be sharpened and excercised or he can develop more serious problems. God knows what is good for all of us, and all of his creation. I would say yes you can have you animals, and maybe they will even be able to talk!

There is no biblical evidence to suggest that they do. The bible says man is made in the image of God not animals. The image of got bit refers to spirit. Animals have not the ability nor the soul to chose or be elected by christ.

The new earth that will be created may have animals but they will be newly created ones that are not affected by sins as the current animals are.

I would also say baptism doesn't make you or an animal a christian, baptism is something you should do as a christian but isn't a neccesity as we learn from the thief on the cross.

On topic: It was never clear if animals go to heaven or not. However, God did save animals from the flood. Some theologians say that animals don't go to heaven because they're not created like us. God breathed soul into us and made us with His hands, while animals were just made by being said by God.

Sin, however, was ours to bear, not the animals. They went into it because of us, and we rule over them because Adam was given the task to name and rule over them. Animals do wrongs too, but they're different from us because they don't have the intelligence like us to think deeply, solve mathematically, explore into subjects, discern....

http://www.whatchristianswanttoknow.com/do-animals-or-pets-go-to-heaven-a-biblical-analysis/

This was said:

New Heavens and a New Earth

17 “See, I will create
new heavens and a new earth.
The former things will not be remembered,
nor will they come to mind.
18 But be glad and rejoice forever
in what I will create,
for I will create Jerusalem to be a delight
and its people a joy.
19 I will rejoice over Jerusalem
and take delight in my people;
the sound of weeping and of crying
will be heard in it no more.

20 “Never again will there be in it
an infant who lives but a few days,
or an old man who does not live out his years;
the one who dies at a hundred
will be thought a mere child;
the one who fails to reach[a] a hundred
will be considered accursed.
21 They will build houses and dwell in them;
they will plant vineyards and eat their fruit.
22 No longer will they build houses and others live in them,
or plant and others eat.
For as the days of a tree,
so will be the days of my people;
my chosen ones will long enjoy
the work of their hands.
23 They will not labor in vain,
nor will they bear children doomed to misfortune;
for they will be a people blessed by the Lord,
they and their descendants with them.
24 Before they call I will answer;
while they are still speaking I will hear.
25 The wolf and the lamb will feed together,
and the lion will eat straw like the ox,
and dust will be the serpent’s food.
They will neither harm nor destroy
on all my holy mountain,”
says the Lord.

Isaiah 65
