There original function was to educate our nation, thereby making it highly competitive in the world's economy.

It's not just economy. It's also about having well-educated voters. If we had a king, maybe it would be sufficient for the king to be well-educated and wise. But since we have a democracy, where voters choose representatives to make policy, it's important for the voters to have a solid knowledge of history, science, government, and so forth. I, selfishly, want my fellow voters to be well educated when they go to the polls.

The Bible does not detail every event of every person's life.
You know Job is an entire book, not just a chapter or verse.

All have sinned since Adam and Eve. John 16:33 can be relevant to Job.
Did you even read Job? What do you make of the wager between God and Satan concerning him?

It depends on how much you believe in the Christian faith. Examples, 9-11-2001, 1-6-2021 insurrection, fires, floods, tornadoes, earthquakes, school shootings, etc. God is totally in control. We hope for His Blessings, but there is a reason for these events, which coincidentally follows much disobedience by the people. Back in Old Testament times yet another example with Moses, plagues on stubborn Pharaoh not letting God's people leave to return back to Israel, frogs, locusts, stillborn babies, etc. History repeats itself.
How's that evidence of anything but it's own happenstance? Those things have been going on for billions of years (not the human ones obviously). You can't just point to things that happened and say "ta da!" and expect anyone to take you seriously.

As far as I'm concerned, public schools are a 19th century paradigm that outlived its usefulness in the early 21st century. It's primary functions are to provide employment to overeducated college grads and supply free daycare to parents that have sold themselves into indentured slavery.

There original function was to educate our nation, thereby making it highly competitive in the world's economy. But that function is no longer necessary. The internet has negated its purpose. Homeschooling is now way too easy with sites like Khan Academy | Free Online Courses, Lessons & Practice. Not to mention all the other training and education tools available on the internet.

And some will argue, "what about the children of bad parents?" Well, what about them. Isn't that a problem today? The parents are ultimately responsible. Leave it to them. My opinion is that public schools should be eliminated.

Yes, I know it will never happen, but I think that is the best solution.
Eliminating the public schools will save taxpayers money. Given the sin in the public schools today, at least a fraction of kids, it only perpetuates crime and other bad behavior later in life. Many kids can get a good Moral Compass from good families and churches. The public school secular humanism indoctrination is not helping. As a humorous example of this, watch the movie Simon Birch.

Eliminating the public schools will save taxpayers money. At least one state has loosened its child labor laws, so eliminating public schools ill free up child laborers!
How much do you think it would save compared to how much it would cost for each household to pay out of pocket for their children's education? This would be particularly hard on the children who get meals at school.

Eliminate public schools? What? How will the poor pay for their children's education?

Statistics prove that the further a child progresses towards graduating high school, the less likely they will be arrested and end up in prison. You have that one backwards.

You may as well advocate to convert the closed public schools into prisons.

The pandemic was a good example how remote leaning with the public schools did not work so well, technical and device problems, attention span issues, follow up on homework, in addition to already existing problems in the public schools. This I learned from talking with teenage neighborhood kids, plus local news.

If kids can get the good moral teachings from church and family, then why propose separate schools for each religion or preferred moral teachings?

That is true, but how is closing them the solution?

Parents go to work, they cannot leave younger kids in the house alone, unless they are remote working or home schooling. So kids mostly go to public schools, depending on local jurisdiction politcs and whether urban, suburban, or rural, that can may be a somewhat good experience, a Marxist indoctrination experience, or also a bad experience from say a city school with crine or in poor repair HVAC, plumbing, or leaky roof.

A solution initially suggested by another poster Reasonably Sane a little earlier in this thread, some merit, but now seeing sone cons pointed out.

I think that was true when public schools educated, rather than indoctrinated.

Is this the official Christian position?
That's my position, regarding public schools. But your response kinda reminds me of a favorite of mine:

Let the parents of school age children in the USA speak. First hand current experience can answer our questions some.

1) Do your kids go to:
a) regular public school?
b) public charter school, what type?
c) private, parochial, or faith based school?
d) home school?

2) What type experience do your kids mostly generally have? Can select more than one.
a) learn the basics including the 3Rs.
b) religious.
c) Marxist or secular humanism indoctrination.
d) none with bad crime or poor building repair environment.

3) Is your local school board left liberal or right conservative?

4) Is your school district mostly urban city, suburban, or rural?

I'm not sure how useful anecdotes are in this case. You should be looking at nationwide studies done by researchers and statisticians.

I'll answer this first myself, went to school here myself, though no kids now, but answers from neighborhood kids and their parents.

1 a) regular public school
2 c) indoctrination, mixed on 2 a) the basics.
3) school board left liberal
4) school district is suburban
