Proverbs 19:

This is pivotal. God pours blessings on us like rain, when we genuinely, (and without "keeping track of it", but in a moment in time, are kind to a suffering, cold, hungry, and bereft soul, without thought of "reward"), alleviate their suffering, even a little, and give what is needed, "blesses" God's heart.

The book of Isaiah has a theme running all through it on this very thing.

This MATTERS to God.

It ties right into this verse:

"Above all, keep fervent in your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins." ~I Peter 4:8

how wonderful that this blesses the Lord!
It means so much at the moment as Church is having a great collection for the food banks to feed the poor this Christmas, also to provide a Christmas lunch for the lonely

Proverbs 19:

This is profound. It clarifies that accepting someone's violent behavior and brushing it under the rug, so to speak, and excusing it, as if it didn't happen is not only detrimental, but it "invites" more such violence, which means that the person "excusing" it and turning a "blind eye" to it, is an accessory to the violence and will be placing themselves in a pattern of excusing this violence and turning a "blind eye" to it. It is just as evil as the acts committed by this re-peat offender.

yes... and the foolish are as bad

2 Enthusiasm without knowledge is no good;
haste makes mistakes.

3 People ruin their lives by their own foolishness
and then are angry at the Lord.

Yes, it's almost like a "blindness" from the Truth takes over.

Yeah, that enemy is STILL a deceiver and a liar.

Proverbs 19:

The fear of the Lord.

This is powerfully true. As one fears the Lord, ev'ry thing else "falls into place", as God floods blessings and favor on this one, just as this verse promises:

"And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God." ~Deut 28:2

Proverbs 19:

God's protection for those who fear Him.

"The fear of the Lord tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil." ~Pro 19:23

God's protection is SURE. Those who TRUST in Him, though enemies be all around, can rest assured in God's defense. It is just as Elisha showed his protegee', the army of angels surrounding him and Elisha, when at first he didn't see them, and Elishah prayed to open the eyes of his frightened protogee'. And God did.

It is the same with His own. We may not see the army of angels surrounding us, but they are SURELY there, nevertheless. And THAT is why we have nothing to fear. It is because, just as it is written, God surrounds us with His protection, seen or unseen.

And even if the enemy cannot see them, they are nevertheless, SURELY there.

Amen.

"And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them. And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha." ~II Kings 6:16-17

Proverbs 19:

A heart for the downcast.
purple_heart.png
Being a lifter of someone's head, especially if that dear one, is rendered "invisible", even as they sit in the middle of a busy walkway, is very very precious to God. It is akin to "lending" to God, as it is written, and God will SURELY bless the compassionate heart that responds. These very ones rendered "invisible" are quite possibly "angels unawares" spoken of in Hebrews.

Amen?

Proverbs 19:

Reassurance.
iu
We have reassurance from our heavenly Father that if we "abide" in Him (another way of looking at "abiding", to me, is "snuggling"...isn't that what the apostle whom Jesus loved, did?)

If we abide in our heavenly Father, the bottom line is that we are SAFE with and in Him.

What can harm us, if we are snuggled under His wing?

Amen?

Proverbs 19:

Compassion.

When we minister to, and give to those who cannot ever give or return it back to us, we bless our God's very heart, and it's like we are giving to God Himself.

God tells us that we are "lending" to Him, and we will surely be blessed in priceless ways by He Himself.

It has been said that we can NEVER EVER "out-give" God.

It's true. I can testify to that.

Amen.

"He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again." ~Pr 19:17
