Day 19, Proverbs Chapter 19

People ruin their lives by their own foolishness
and then are angry at the Lord.

Haven't we seen this...so often they blame God...

I love verse 27

8 He who gets wisdom loves his own soul;
He who keeps understanding will find good.

11 The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger,
And his glory is to overlook a transgression.

16 He who keeps the commandment keeps his soul,
But he who is careless[a] of his ways will die.

20 Listen to counsel and receive instruction,
That you may be wise in your latter days.

27 Cease listening to instruction, my son,
And you will stray from the words of knowledge.

4 Wealth attracts many friends, but even the closest friends of the poor person deserts them 6 Many curry favor with a ruler, and everyone is the friend of one who gives gifts. 7 The poor are shunned by all their relatives - how much more do their friends avoid them! Though the poor pursue them with pleading, they are nowhere to be found. Proverbs 19:4, 6-7
These verses really made me think about real friends and fake friends. The real friends stick by you, even in the hard times, and even when they can't really do anything to help except be there for you. The fake friends are just there for your stuff.

Many are the plans in a person's heart, but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails. verse 21
So true, and nothing we plan can stop God's will.

Amen. Both verses are profound.

Proverbs 19:

God help us. I've done this. I had to repent. Thank God for His grace and His wisdom, that He will impart to us, if we but ask. And thank God for His grace as we learn His teachings to us. Father give us "ears to hear", in Jesus name, amen (((hug)))

Amen. Enthusiasm without knowledge is downright dangerous. THis is being played out right in the events reported on in the news with the tearing down of the statues all over the country, and other atrocities that are happening.

Oh God HELP us at this dire dire dire time, in Jesus name, amen.

Proverbs 19:

This is pivotal. God pours blessings on us like rain, when we genuinely, (and without "keeping track of it", but in a moment in time, are kind to a suffering, cold, hungry, and bereft soul, without thought of "reward"), alleviate their suffering, even a little, and give what is needed, "blesses" God's heart.

The book of Isaiah has a theme running all through it on this very thing.

This MATTERS to God.

It ties right into this verse:

"Above all, keep fervent in your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins." ~I Peter 4:8
