Here is my post from the other thread:
"Yeah I have to say, I read the old one, and even after a polite poster pointed out that men cheat too, he still wanted to call husband's names who stay with their cheating wives. However, here I am, because it seems that the OP has been hurt by this sort of behavior and perhaps, Chris, you are a new Christian? Because I rememer you mentioning on another thread that next time you are going to do it God's way, with no sex, good for you.
So now I am here to answer the question about men and their cheating wives.
My husband stayed with me after I had an affair because he loved me and he felt that we would make a good long standing pair, we had a lot in common. It was his choice whether or not he wanted to reconcile, we were separated at the time, and he thought about it for a while. I was pregnant, I should mention, by the other man. My husband decided that he wanted to make it work, he had to talk me into it even, and I have since learned some things about his character that I can respect.
He reminds me of Nathanael from John 1:47, "
Here is a true Israelist, in whom there is nothing false." He is a true man who is the type of person you meet, and after getting to know him you find that he wasn't pretending at first impression, he is true through and through.
I believe that his choice to reconcile with me, even when I did not want it, and I did not know that it was the better choice, is the best way he has shown me what true love is.
Ephesians 5:25-28 "
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain of wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself."
Husbands, love your wives as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.... hmm. Let's analyze this. Christ, allowed himself to die for a bunch of people that ridiculed him and did not obey his commands. They did not respect him. My husband acted just like Christ did. That is why I believe that Christ would have us forgive cheating spouses, rather than use one verse as a cop out. I would not have blamed my husband for divorcing me, in fact at that time I wished he would, but he was alble to bring me back to Christianity by showing me what God is really like in a prime example of forgiveness."
Now tell me.
Why does MY husband deserve a label? He acts like Christ and we call him a cuckold. Personally I'll call the ones who run out on their family because their wife cheated, leaving their kids out in the cold cuckolds. Because I think they're lame. Its offensive because a husband whose wife cheated on him DOES NOT DESERVE A LABEL it is not his fault. And if he stays and loves his wife then I think he deserves a better label, like honest forgiving and Christ like.
