do you really think that people can't get past it? seriously... My list of friends include former adulterers, liars, cheaters, swindlers, idolaters, harlots, etc... none of that makes them less than what they are now though, redeemed children of God, and equal in his sight.

Correction, I should have said "couples" who've moved past it.

Actually You are a Cuckold...

Jesus said "do not sleep with a prostitute, by doing so you are marring her" Tried to find it, couldn't I think it's in Matthew..

But anyhoo, that's part of the Marriage vowel....

So you are technically a Cuckold

Actually Jesus did not say that.

However, Paul, in 1 Corinthians said to not unite your body with a prostitute because in doing so you become "one flesh" and that's probably what you're thinking of....

Of course words can hurt, when used in an offesive context. But that's not what's going on here, it's simply a case of people that prefer that everyone be all PC and peachy because certain words are not sensitive enough.

When you repeat words 90 times that you've been asked not to, that right there is "OFFENSIVE CONTEXT"

Was it Paul ??? Dang, my Bad...
NIV Translates it as "Marry her"
And Please Leanna, lets not get into a big translation debate, I know you love those too... but lets just stick with one topic at a time !! =)

Anyhoo... by my definition (with biblical reference) GQ is a cuckold

Also, I think I should state, I could care less about the word, I just think the attitude behind it is not very appropiate for this website

I think that your PC attitude behind your posts is not very appropiate for this website. :)

Wow, you have no clue what your talking about... You don't know know Leanna, don't pretend to be her shrink...

And YES WORDS CAN HURT... the bible says over and over and over that the words of the tounge are powerful

Yes, words can be powerful. But no one was trying to use the word in an offensive manner. It was being used in conversation about infidelity. When a word is used in context, why should people get irate about it?

Answer me this. Should we avoid saying Merry Christmas during December because someone might be offended?

Should we avoid using the word cuckold in a conversation about whether cuckolded husbands should remain married because someone might be offended?

Should we avoid using the "B" word when discussing dog breeding because someone might be offended?

Where do you draw the line???????? When is it okay to use the english language accurately without being criticized for doing so?

I ask forgiveness from those of you who I unintentionally offended. I am sorry.

My position remains that when a word is used in proper context, there should be no reason to recant. The offended persons should take it upon themselves to see the word for what it really is. It was not intended as an insult. It was not intended to point out anyone. It was used properly and in context.

I think that a spade is a spade. You can call it a shovel, but that doesn't change the fact that it is a spade. Nothing will change that. Holler and demand that "shovel" be used instead, but it is still a spade.

Where do you draw the line?

When it's consistently just 2 or 3 people saying not to use the word, is a big difference than the majority of the people on this thread. If it were the majority I would stop, but that's clearly not the case.

Actually..... I vote yes. Once a word is given negative meaning, it has negative meaning. Who cares what the dictionary says? But anyway, this discussion is getting boring now  More than two people have objected, but I don't want to rat them out, i remembre one even edited her post (it was in the first three pages of one of the cuckold threads) because she said clearly she wouldn't be heard. She was right.

I have to disagree wit this, simply because a word obtains negaitive status doesn't er shouldn't change the meanin of the word, it's this silly PC stuff, it never ends plain an simple, you will not make everbody happy bout sumthin an you'll always have someone bent out of shape bout it. Words that are given er taken as negative words always tend to originate from good words. Like the F word for cryin out loud. So far as I can recall it literally meant a hole in the ground. Same thin for dogs, it's the term to describe an in heat female. So if someone were to call a gal that, they are literally callin em a female dog in heat. It's crazy. To be PC is to run a rat race in a circle wit no end.

So you use the F word to describe a hole in the ground?

No, i'm not into PC ... personally I think it's stupid as a general topic... but were not talking in general terms here,

Read some of my post, you'll see I really don't care about being Politically correct.

My Pastor said something about PC once that I think was funny, and truthful...PC is bad both ways... if you have strong opinions, you're a bigot... if you don't, you're irrelevant.. ^_^
