Very good observation.

I believe both. Some obviously are purely historical and some have yet to be fulfilled.

If there were ever a time to teach and preach from the minor prophets; it is now!!!

America seriously needs to repent!!!!!!! :preach:

SOLA GRATIA.
Yes, it does. But I think you need to repent more than it does...

That is quite disappointing... I would prefer a USA with liberty than a CSA with none.
I think the lack of liberty is a prerequisite for a totalitarian ecclesiocracy based on the premise that all sinners should be killed by hanging. Don't you?

LAW 1. : EVERY time a real born again Christian speaks against any left wing policy/thought/idea they will be labeled with the word "HATE" instantly, or somewhere in the thread.

This Law will be hereby and forever known as Shield Of Faith's Law #1. Or Shields Law #1. Or SOF's Law #1.

******************

Good to know the Law is still valid.

Shield, stop trying to be funny or cool. You clearly have no life as you don't even spend your entire time arguing well on the net.

I've created a Shield's law to appease your clearly fragile ego which also matches every sick word you've posted. Read my sig.

Then I guess we would all be hung. Yes. Lack of liberty is a major prerequisite for the rise of totalitarian statism. At least liberty as a principle is highlighted in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, but here, in this "C.S.A", I see no ounce of it. At least, in the USA you have the freedom to express notions or propose such a CSA. But in the CSA, you would not have the freedom to express the notion or propose a USA.

Hey Shield. Good to know you're reading my posts again.
I do believe I have posted biblical support for my own position which you have ignored, back fairly early in the first instance of this post. As you don't seem to care about that I don't really see why I should keep reading you bible verses. Should I? Do you want me to get out the bible again to support what I say?

I personally don't believe that you are a Christian. I believe that you are what we call a "Nominal Christian". A 'Christian' in name only; but not the genuine article.

And why is that? Because I don't want all those people killed? Like I have stated before, communists whom you would want killed can easily be Christian and good people. The first Christians were communists. We're all sinners, and according to the bible we should all die for our sins. And we all would - if not for Christ. So what is it that makes unruly children, people who preach communism, fornicators, gang members, homosexuals, pedophiles and more fall outside the blood of Christ?

I could be wrong. I don't know everything about you; however, from what I have read from you, I can not in good conscience call you a true born again believer. Your sheer hatred of me, and your lack of credence in the Word of God; forces me to believe that you are only a "nominal Christian".

I don't hate you Shield. I certainly hate what you're proposing. I have seen it before in Europe, and then it had a swastika stuck to it. I have seen it before in Cambodia with a hammer and a scythe slammed on it. I have seen it all over the world. It's not new. But it - what you are suggesting - is evil.
I am, in fact, trying to love you. Oh I find that very very hard to do because as I have said, when I see what you propose I see Hitler. I see all that is evil in man's history. And I see the polar opposite to Christ's teachings.
Still wanting to do what is right, but going about it with everything so off the small and narrow.

So please excuse me if I don't listen to a word you have to say.

Feel free to ignore me. But please do take a hint. When you have ticked off Suomipoika, myself and many others to the point of calling you a satan, it's not for no reason. It's what you propose to do Shield. I understand where it's coming from, what with your past and all, but it's still wrong. Jesus died for those people. He's die for any one of the worst ones of them. Even that gay man who lived with you. Or your wife's ex-husband. If one of those were the only human left Jesus would have died for them and then given them the choice of following Him or not.
Jesus is all about love, Shield. Love towards all human beings. You, me, Mother Theresa, Charles Manson, Jack The Ripper, Adolf Hitler. God loves us all, despite what we have done. Jesus died so that every one of us can live. He didn't die so that we can persecute one another, incarcerate one another, and kill one another because the other person sinned.

The parable of the unforgiving servant comes to mind:

Matthew 18:23-35 said:

23"Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants. 24As he began the settlement, a man who owed him ten thousand talents[a] was brought to him. 25Since he was not able to pay, the master ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he had be sold to repay the debt.

26"The servant fell on his knees before him. 'Be patient with me,' he begged, 'and I will pay back everything.' 27The servant's master took pity on him, canceled the debt and let him go.

28"But when that servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii. He grabbed him and began to choke him. 'Pay back what you owe me!' he demanded.

29"His fellow servant fell to his knees and begged him, 'Be patient with me, and I will pay you back.'

30"But he refused. Instead, he went off and had the man thrown into prison until he could pay the debt. 31When the other servants saw what had happened, they were greatly distressed and went and told their master everything that had happened.

32"Then the master called the servant in. 'You wicked servant,' he said, 'I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to. 33Shouldn't you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?' 34In anger his master turned him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed.

35"This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother from your heart."

I tried to tell you with all my emotions Shield. And I shouldn't have. I don't hate you. I do hate what you're proposing though, and I pray that you will see why. Because as it is, you're this unforgiving servant. You have been forgiven all your sins, but you would go after so many other human beings and kill them for theirs.
That's serious, as this passage tells.

Why is it you have not yet dealt with the Scripture several of us have put forth showing that Jesus and the Apostles all showed forgiveness and did not separate themselves form the sinners of the world. Myself and Soum have both stated that putting sinners to death may be in the bible but so is showing grace and mercy.

I still see NO grace and mercy in your CSA. All I see is a place ruled by modern pharisees who hold to the "Law" and condemn anyone who does not live up to their ideals.
Why did Jesus come here and spend his time with all the vile people of his area if they should have been killed and never been given the chance to accept God. I may be way off base but I personally do not think God really likes "religion" what God wants is a RELATIONSHIP with his children.
I am not relating myself to God but as a father myself I can say I love my children with all I am. They do get punished when they do wrong but I still love them and try and try to always make sure they are safe, happy and on the right track. If I as a fallen man feel like that why would God want some of his children given the ultimate form of punishment for mistakes they have made. Did not Jesus teach us the story of the prodigal son? And yet from what you have said you would have had this son killed for rebelling against his father.
Yes the scripture does advocate the use of capital punishment but it also gives grace and mercy. Without that Grace where would we be?

Where is the Grace and Mercy of Jesus in your CSA?
Where is the compassion of Christ?
Where is the hand to the sinner in need?
Where is Gods love for all his children?

If your CSA is all about being a Christian Nation then please tell me how it will bring the lost to God?
How will it help those in need?
How will it care for the sick and lame?
How will it restore a broken spirit?
How will it show Jesus to the world?

Shadwo, howdy.

Look brother a long time ago I did go over this. I understand that you think that I am advocating that all Christians run to the C.S.A. and never be involved with the rest of the world.

Not the case.

I am advocating creating a place that would be something like the original U.S.A.. I am not saying that ALL Christians need to come here and serve GOD.

There would be NOTHING WRONG with a group of Christians getting together and leaving the U.S.A. and starting somewhere else.

Creating a New Nation. A good and holy nation. One different than the U.S.A. is now.

If you decided to stay in the U.S.A. that would be great. I am not advocating that you HAD to come to the C.S.A..

The question then is this: "How do you minister to the heathen?", right? Once again we would be able to put out lots of Missionaries. We would be a home base for a group of hard charging Missionaries. Also we could use our surplus $$$ for blessing Christians in all other countries. Sending aid Bibles/Food/Clothing/Medicine/$$$ to our brothers and sisters around the globe!!!

Everyone here is tripping because I said that we would have harsh Capital Punishment laws in place. Yes, murderers/ rapists/ kidnappers/ gangsters would find themselves swinging from the gallows in the New C.S.A.. However, like I have stated too many times to count; THERE WOULD NOT BE THAT MANY PEOPLE BEING HANGED BECAUSE MOST OF THESE TYPES OF PEOPLE WOULD NOT COME TO THE C.S.A. IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!

It would not be the U.S.A., so we would not have this great amount of wicked to punish.

The C.S.A. would be an awesome place for a Christian to live. Heathen would not like it much of course. But anyone in the faith would love it. It would be a great place to raise a family, knowing that they were not going to be raped, beaten, kidnapped, gunned down in a drive by!

Hope this helped.

assuming the people that moved to make this Christian utopia passed muster, why do you think their children would not grow up and have a certain percentage that rebelled? you don't see the future of your fantasy in real terms. it evolves. it doesn't stay static. it can't. humans wont let it. the rebellious can seem attractive and start getting followers of their own. Jesus started this way. an outsider with a counter-culture message that attracted people, in spite of the potential consequences from the status quo.
i don't understand why we are all still responding to this silliness. it isn't rooted in any kind of reality that any of us - except one - would recognize. i guess the novelty of someone actually trying to make this argument is so amusing we can't tear ourselves away.
rock on, col. kurtz!!!

Would it be a great place to live if Fred Phelps were there, and running things? Bob Enyart? Bishop John Spong?

Bishop Spong is pretty much the only religious person I would want to lead an allegedly Christian nation -- and you can bet we wouldn't need so many hangings if he did.

But, PJ, you bring up a very important point -- Nobody objects to facism, even in its most abominal forms, if they happen to agree with the facists, or better still, happen to be the facists.

But you bet your bottom blessing that the minute SoF's C.S.A. gets wrestled away from him and under the control of a Christian who disagrees with SoF's doctrine on any point, no matter how minor, SoF will be the first one at the head of the revolution -- and/or the first one at the end of a rope.

Right.

Any way you cut it, Theocracies have been shown to not work very well.

In addition, you know that people such as Bob Enyart, Fred Phelps, and (possibly) ShieldofFaith would all LOVE to see the United States become a Christian Theocracy. But my guess is that if you stuck all three of them in a room together, it wouldn't be very long before fists were flying. And that's no different than the Sunnis & Shi'ites who both want Theocracies.

I've said this before and I'll say it again:

Religious fundamentalism is almost always approached in reaction to a perceived (real or imagined) threat. IOW, religious extremism in any form (and we must all agree, SoF is extreme) is never a movement towards something as it is a movement against something. Fundies need an enemy to fight -- should they somehow defeat that enemy (which they rarely do) they must find another one -- or manufacture one to preserve the faith.

Lock all the religious kooks in one room together, and they will find excuses to go at each others' throats until only one is left standing...

... and he'll start punching the mirror before the day is out.

Make murder, rape, abortion, homosexuality, and gangs all Capital Offenses. Imprison the a.c.l.u. and you don't need a theocracy here in the states.

Otherwise, yea, I could go for a Christian theocracy here in the states.

Except that Theocracy is the only way you could justify such actions -- there's no secular reason to execute homosexuals.

A Christian Theocracy headed by Bishop Spong? Don't expect to see many homosexuals or ACLU types swinging from the gallows.

No. That is your belief on government. And governments were not a creation of God, but of man, to institute order.

Your cheery little smiley face does little to alleviate the horror of your words. In the name of Christianity you would kill gang members, homosexuals and abortion doctors, among others?
It is pure evil to use the name of Chrisianity to justify or excuse murder. If you insist on preaching for the necessity of a fundamentalist state, please do so without claiming the philosophical backing of Jesus Christ, he does not support you.

Certainly the founders of our own government believed this, and it's worked pretty well for us thus far.
