I have helped lead many people to the Lord Jesus Christ. Two of them are now pastors. One of them is my cusin and his church is running around 2,500. The other is head pastor of a Baptist church here in the Sacramento area. His church is around 700-900 people. I have helped bring others to the Lord who went on to be evangelists.

Strange that I've touched so many people for Christ and have helped many through serious trials; YET, according to you I am a "bloody, ugly SATAN.".

SATAN is the father of lies -- you should understand if few people believe your claims.

Your accusation has no merit. It has only anger in its teeth. I am sorry that you don't see Capital Punishment the way I see it; however, calling me a "bloody, ugly SATAN." is wrong and not doing any one any good.

Suomipoika, can you please go and tell all the people I have led to the Lord, and are serving Him faithfully that I am a "bloody, ugly SATAN.". Please go tell them that you believe that they were brought to faith in Christ Jesus by a demon. Please specify that it was a "bloody, ugly SATAN.", that prayed with them and preached to them and brought them to the Lord.

If there was one primary way in which the devil - the deceiver, the liar - would attempt to deceive conservative Christians, it would be exactly the way in which you are speaking in your posts. You try to write in an "innocent tone" and make it sound like the people who stand up against you are the bad ones. Yet, it is the prince of death and darkness manifesting in your ideas, no matter in what kind of guise it would try to veil them.

I used to look forward to reading your posts. I used to think that you had a fairly level head about you. You used to think things through before you posted: Now...?

This is not the Nature of GOD. Or the holy Trinity. Or the Divinity of Christ. This is only a political type of doctrine. It has NO eternal spiritual significance. It has nothing to do with Salvation. Nothing what so ever.

For you sake and mine, maybe you should just lay off this thread. If it causes you that much heart burn, just lay off it brother (and YES I called you brother. Consider what it was that you let sidetrack you.

Gut instinct aside, then, I would like to point out a few things:

It is true that God does authorize capital punishment -- in the spirit of honesty, we have to concede that the vast majority of killings (both by government and private individuals) in the Bible are either performed by God himself, ordered by Him, or blessed by Him after the fact. So it would be quite hypocritical of Him to turn around and say "Killing is wrong" as an absolute truth.

That being said, you are correct in that your C.S.A. would not be violating any Biblical sanctions by executing convicted criminals.

(A lesser man would cut me off here and quote-mine me -- perhaps you're a better man than that after all)

However -- God has also given explicit instructions as to who must be put to death in a Nation under His protection -- and you've already stated, for the record, that you would not follow those instructions -- not all of them, anyway.

HERE ARE THINGS YOU'D NOT BE HUNG FOR:

1. Eating shell fish.

2. Being a communist. If you preached it you'd be banished.

3. Gangster rap. You may be imprisoned, but you would not be hung for that.

4. Working on the Sabbath. You would probably be rebuked, but you would not be hung for that.

5. Wearing two different types of clothing (cotton and polyester.). You might look weird, but you won't get hung for that.

It seems to me that doing what God wants, but not how He wants it done, is not going to impress Him very much. You want to execute people in you country? Fine, go ahead; your country, your rules -- but be a man and admit that it's not because God tells you to; it's because you want these people dead.
