I'm not the one who supposes that Joe Biden is a step up from the previous president in the cognitive abilities department.

Nobody expected you to be.

I do think one quality of a good leader is to not be too bull-headed by rejecting the opinions of others... I guess you could say that's what a democracy is all about.

...But I have to wonder where the advice is coming from not to stand up to an evermore threatening China. My best guess is our European friends, with their big trade agreements that they've recently established... That's their fault, IMO.

I call this dilemma "globalist gridlock". It's when you have too many issues to balance at once (like the whole world), it results in gridlock.

Agreed.

The problem obviously is that either side can selectively edit to bolster their narrative. It's simply not an assessment that one can make through a tv screen.

I would feel comfortable with a nuetral third party making the assessment in a clinical manner.

I always thought that was a real impediment to Trump's presidency in that you got the impression that he didn't seek the counsel of others. At least with Biden you get the impression that he's not going to do anything really stupid like his predecessor because he has people around him that he trusts their counsel. This keeps me from worrying about another Capitol Riot or him firing missiles at North Korea!

Is this actually happening?

Yes, they're giving billions to both Eastern and Western Africa, to build military bases on both the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, which threatens Europe, the America's and Australia. They've swallowed up Hong Kong, and threaten Taiwan and Vietnam.

They imprison Muslims and Christians regularly in re-education camps, and outlaw all criticism of the Chinese government, while simultaneously declaring their president permanent "Helmsman".

They're doing all these bad things while building building up their military, all with money from Western trade partners -which needs to stop immediately. And Biden praises the Chinese government, and re-establishes previous trade agreements with them.

One of the things (one of countless things) that Donald never understood about leadership is that you don't have to be the smartest person in the room. Find the best people you can, even if (especially if) they're smarter than you, and let them do what they do best. Your job is simply to point them in the direction you want them to go, and let them figure out how to get there...

...and listen
to them if they tell you why that might be a bad idea. They're the experts; you're not.

Biden's smart enough to heed the wisdom of the great prophets Jagger and Richards: "You can't always get what you want." What a president personally prefers might not be what's right for the country, and even if it is, it might not be worth the cost of attaining it.

I guess I wasn't clear - I wasn't asking for more assertions to back up the previous assertion.

IMO, Progressivism is the process of being reactive to changing events. Where conservativism follows a predetermined path, and doesn't sway.

I see value in both, and see that progressive change is due now in how we deal with China.

This thread is not about Trump or how I feel about him.

There is nothing wrong with comparing Biden to Trump. In fact, comparing a current president to his predecessor (or to previous presidents) has been done throughout the history of our nation. Why is it suddenly unacceptable to Trump supporters to compare the current president to his predecessor?

Didn't Gerald Ford and Ronald Reagan both face similar accusations?
In the case of President Reagan, it may have had some merit by the end of his second term.
In the case of President Ford, it was never true.

So all the gaffs prove is that President Biden is not the best Public Speaker we have ever had in the White House. The real question, to quote Elvis Presley, is can Biden "T.C.B."? So far, President Biden is "Taking Care of Business" just fine ... even if you disagree with all of his choices. That is the same thing that I saw when I first heard the question about "candidate Biden" being senile and watched one of his campaign stop speeches and press interactions for myself. The man does not walk, talk or act like he is senile. He just struggles to give a good speech and recall detailed numbers in impromptu situations.

Or maybe unlike trump when enough people question is sanity he does his part to prove he's well. Just because the last president proved he had dementia every day with his insane medical reports like all his tests came back positive, or bragging about an Alzheimer test and other such things. I love how 4 years of trumps insane ramblings, and you guys can't stop making stuff up about biden.

Looks like the right has a serious case of biden derangement syndrome.

Well, that was fast - one post before someone attempted to derail the thread.

This thread is not about bashing the president or his "approval" ratings.

Either stick to the topic or excuse yourself from posting further, please.

So making up lies about his sanity isn't attempting to attack him and his job?

4 years of world leaders, people across the globe and real news papers questioning trumps sanity and everything he does, trump being below 50% confidence pretty much his entire presidency, "It's all hit pieces because they hate trump."

a couple of right wing propaganda rags question biden, "See the world doesn't think he's sane." heh you need adamantium to cut the irony here it's so thick.

Also what ever happened to those 4 years of you must stand behind you're president no matter what, he's our president and it's unpatriotic to attack him and other such jingoistic nonsense?

This thread is not about Trump or how I feel about him.

It very much is about trump, the very people making topics attacking biden every 5 minutes were the same ones attacking those who question trump for far worse things. It's downright hilarious seeing people that whined about trump derangement syndrome and other things showing far worse with biden.
