Thanks for the prayers everyone. It has certainly been a challenge physically but all in all I am enjoying the work. I do miss everyone here though and miss being able to get on and chat like I used to. :sigh:
I think the work is beginning to be second nature to me. The other day I found myself tryiong to enter prices on the phone keys... gasp! :D

Hi njsisterinchrist, and everyone,I just found this forum the other day, after they changed the name of midlife Christians where I used to hang out, to Fabulous 40's. So thought I would jump in here at the end of this thread, hope no one minds?

I have always said that since I do not believe in Ghosts anyway, that it would not bother me to live next to a cemetary. At least no neighbor problems, which can be a real nightmare!
Hi Soblessed...glad you stopped by...;o)
Us Golden Eagles are a friendly bunch....so just jump right on in!
Glad to meet you...and be blessed....k

Soblessed, welcome. I also "discovered" this thread very recently. It is refreshing to just chit-chat which I do not do much at all.
Last night my husband and I went to hear my brother's presentation, who is a Gideon, at the local church. I was so blessed by that. I was and am praying for my brother and see many things that God is doing in his life. I am amazed at this remarkable blessing. Each time I see how God works I drop to my knees and can only say "holy, holy, holy!". I can only begin to understand how in Revelation the heavenly creatures keep exclaiming "holy, holy, holy!"
Blessing,
Diana

Doing well, thanks.
I have to get out early, I am having some people from church for dinner. I am planning one of those "30-minute-meals". Hope I do not burn something along the way. BTW, 30 minutes does not include homemade desert! I have to buy something. Oh, I forgot, I have frozen homemade pineapple upsidedown cake!.
Take care,
Diana

Thank you. We learned alot how our missionary in Jamaica (not Queens) is doing.
You reminded me, I also have to do the second round of getting yard ready for winter. I do not cover my rose bushes, and only those in huge planters once did not survive winter. But today I feel "under the weather", so will focus on my house cleaning and laundry. BTW, would you know if it is OK to trim the japanese maple tree after it looses it's leaves. It is getting to look so nice now, but it needs trimming.
Take care,
Diana

Gosh, this darling red tabby kitten adopted us; I wish we could adopt him, but can't afford the vet bills, etc., plus the last male we had used our couch for a toilet. I won't risk that again; can't replace another couch. But, cute kkitties pull at my heart strings. This one was obviously a pet...it tries to get in our house; loves to be petted.

Good Tuesday morning ladies!
I hope your weekend and halloween were good.
I would have been on sooner, but the children had a busy weekend with parties and helping to clean out their closets. It is so nice to see them work together.
All your talk about getting the yards ready for winter makes me sad. I am not ready for the snow and cold. I don't want to close up the screen house or the rest of the backyard yet. And the thought of no more fresh air coming thru open windows :-(
Knowing that the holidays are around the corner and we will be spending time with family makes this time of year just a little more bearable!
Well I'm off to make a batch of peanut butter cookies.
I hope you all have a great day.
God Bless

Know what you mean. We have in our back yard 2 cats that come for a snack. Anything won't do, they only want milk. I know, I know that I should not feed strays. But they do not look like homeless cats at all. I am not ready to adopt them. One year ago we lost our Rex, a cocker spaniel. He was a good dog. But it is nice to have the house stay clean.

Finally, Halloween is over. I do not like that "holiday". But the children look so cute when knocking on my door. And there is so much trust in doing that: that I will open the door, and be nice to them and have something good for them, that I do prepare things for the children. This year I also gave out small Bibles and christian literature. They were very receptive to that.
Yes, autumn also makes me sad.

Well, little kitty has a name now, Punky. This is the first stray we've fed. My 17-year-old talked me into it; I'm still torn because I live in town and generally outdoor cats don't last long. But we bought a small bag of food and the boys can feed and pet it as long as it's around. Before we got the food, Nate gave it milk, leftover chickern and boiled eggs. He said it gobbled the dry food right down. I guess food is food to him.
