I'm sorry you hate working. I remember that feeling.
Our temps are nice here too. But it will be getting cold by the end of the week they say. :-(
I love home projects too. I really like them when they are done though!
Take care, talk with you later.

My keyboard had to be replaced, but I'm back now. I'm getting tired now, tho. Been catching up on e-mails, but wanted to check in, as I'm pretty sure hub will monopolize the computer tomorrow.

Happy birthday, Migs.

How far did Keep move? Maybe she's just not hooked up to the internet yet.

Can anybody tell me if you take a stray cat indoors and it seems healthy, do you really need to take it to the vet? We've become quiite attached to a little kitten who showed up about ten days ago. The boys feed and love on it, but let it roam. Living in town, I know outdoor cats aren't safe or welcome. Of course, it would need to be fixed. We'd need it something to scratch on.
I swore I'd never have another indoor pet, but this kitten is soooo cute, very sweet. Red tabby. My son wonder if shots are necessary.

I would take it to the Vet. You never know since it is a stray. You said you were going to have it fixed, if the cat is healthy you can probably wait and get it fixed, get shots, and a checkup all at once. I used to work for a Vet, better be safe than sorry.

I have caught up reading all the posts on this thread and it made me miss you all even more. Where do I start? First hi to everyone and a happy autumn. A special thanks to all who sent me a PM or posted. I value each and everyone of you so much. Praise God for such good friends.

Happy Birthday Migs! How did you celebrate? Scooter the kitten sounds so sweet and I can relate to not being able to resist that little face, I'm glad you adopted her or him.

It is getting colder here now also. We were so blessed with good weather while moving. The new house is nice but lots of things need to be done, just getting the curtains and blinds bought and up has been a real job and I am still not done. I had to hurry and get some plants re-planted correctly before the cold weather set in and it looks like I just made it, autumn has arrived. It is time to cook hot chili, stew, soups and homemade bread. Yum:yum:

Nice to have you back, Keep.
I am glad that everything worked out just in time before the cold weather started. You even re-planted some plants! It looks like good Lord answered prayers for your move.
You bake bread! I used to, but some of us put on weight, so I do not anymore. But, tomorrow I will bake something with apples, like Charlotte cake. I am still using those apples from a few weeks ago.
Scooter, I am sure you are enjoying your new addition to the family - your cat. In our back yard we had few cats come and go. We always had milk for them. They ate at different houses too. They look well fed. So, one of them had kittens. And she decided that our back yard looks good to them. They found a nice and cozy place under the table that is pushed against the wall (my husband put the bench in front of it). They like the leaves that gathered up under the table. She has 3 kittens. We feed them meat and milk at least twice a day. I suggested to my family to adopt one, but my son did not want it. He is still sore from losing our Rex and looks like does not want to get attached to another cute creature. But, he said that he will weather proof the area for the cats. Well, that is my cat story for today.
Good night everyone. Have a blessed Lord's day tomorrow.
Diana.

My son, Nate is sitting in the back room with the kitten on his lap. He puts him out at night or when it starts walking around. We've got to call the humane society to see about a voucher for neutering. I won't let him stay inside until he's fixed. Then get him to the vet.

Hi Diana, Yes I do bake my own bread. I don't like the preservatives they put in everything now so I do try to cook and bake without using prepared foods but can't do it all the time but I try. This summer it was too hot at times to warm the house up with the oven so I did buy my bread. I found a brand called Arnold's that does not use hydrogenated oils but still the preservatives are there. I buy it when I can't bake my own.
I liked your cat story. I have 3 cats and have taken care of many that showed up in the yard. Maybe your son will change his mind when he sees how great they are to have around. Bless you for caring for them. Keep

Scootermom, If the kitten is young (under 6 months) you don't have to worry about him spraying if that is the reason your not letting him in the house. All the male cats I have known that were not neutered did not start that until around a year old of course they could start sooner but not under 6 months. They are not sexually mature enough. I would bring him in the house to get him use to a litter box while he is young if you plan on keeping him in the house. By the way what did you name him? Keep

Keep, thanks. He's grown in just the two weeks we've had him. How can you tell their age? My son guessed about four months old. He acts so much like the orange tabby we had before. Very affectionate. Our previous one ruined a couch, even tho' he was nuetered, so we returned him to the shelter.
But, we had 2 other cats; maybe that's why. If this one wets, I can't replace another couch so I'm a bit nervous.
The female cats only wet on the dirty laundry, which was bad enough. They both had more complicated health problems than we were prepared to handle. I guess you could say we've had bad luck with cats.

Goodness, he's having the hardest time choosing a name. I call him Cat for now. Our other cats were Dolly, Smokey and Milo. I suggested Milo2, but he said no.

We are always getting strays left by our house. It's hard when the kids want to name them and bring them in the house. We have adopted a few over the years. We have one cat now. She is 12 1/2 and going strong. I really don't think I want another pet.
The kids have chosen some fun names. Boston, Chicago,Cohoes(for the town my hubby's mom was born in). I guess it's a good thing that they don't understand how they get their names.
I wish you all the best with the kitten.
Take care

Homemade bread! That sounds so good. I haven't made bread in years. But your right it is getting to be that time of year to make soups and stews. :yum:
Talk with you soon.
Take care

A cat named Chicago? LOL! :D

I know it was kind of funny.
Our cat we have now is a female and her name is Spike. When she was a kitten she looked liked a bull dog puppy(walked with those little bulldog legs and had a mean little face) and we thought she was a he. OOPS!
