Welcome to the check-in thread, Irishman!Hello everyone,
I feel blessed to have found this community, you guys seem like a great bunch. I have already felt the support of many of you when I opened and shared my problems. And you have opened your hearts, given me answers and expressed your concerns to better myself. For that I thank God, that he has lead me to this place.
An important part of Christianity is helping the neighbour, and you guys honour the teachings of the Lord.
Amen I say to you! and Thank you!.
Glad you made it over! I was afraid I might have been a little harsh in the other thread glad I didn't chase you off.Hello everyone,

Ha ha!Boy????
Who is that???

Ha ha!
Pete, in honor of your birthday, allow me to post this informative piece:
Many of you "Old Folks" (those over 50, WAY over 50, or hovering near 50) are quite confused about how we should present ourselves.
Despite what you may have seen on the streets, the following combinations DO NOT go together and should be avoided:
1. A nose ring and bifocals
2. Spiked hair and bald spots
3. A pierced tongue and dentures
4. Miniskirts and support hose
5. Ankle bracelets and corn pads
6. Speedo's and cellulite
7. A belly button ring and a gall bladder surgery scar (hmmm . . . Pep has one of these . . . and it's not the belly button ring . . . )
8. Unbuttoned disco shirts and a heart monitor
9. Midriff shirts and a midriff bulge
10. Bikinis and liver spots
11. Short shorts and varicose veins
12. Inline skates and a walker
And last, but not least:
13. Thongs and Depends
Hope that birthday was a good one!!

Jill, any update on your family so I can update my weds night prayer group? specifics are nice but we can always just pray. The Lord knows what the needs are.

Pepperoni said:Jill--how does his long-term prognosis look? Or is that something that's not known at this point?
If you're wearing tights . . . you've got bigger problems than a bad knee. The tong doesn't fit though, never could get the hang of skates, can't get the support tights over my support bandage for my gammy knee.
NO!!! That hurts just thinking about it.And I still have all my own teeth, so should I go for the pierced tongue?
That would be fine, but let me caution you against getting the "tramp stamp."Do you think a tattoo would be okay?
Pep that list is too funny!
JillThanks for asking Cory and Pep... Basically, we don't know the extent of his damage right now. My brother saw him yesterday and he cracked some jokes and my Dad smiled. He was probably exhausted, so we're hoping that's been part of his problem. He's not talking or swallowing and at this point, we don't know if he can walk. We're taking it one day at a time. Hopefully he can be moved to a nursing home within a week or less. They are holding a bed for him at the home where my mom worked for 35+ years and it's about a mile from my house and my parent's home. Please pray for strength, cognitive abilities and for the doctor's to properly treat and assess him.
RE: my sister/nephew, please pray that he will seek treatment. Also, my sister is upset with me for some reason. She's mad that my brother, aunt and cousin know about this situation, even though my mother told them, not me. But I broke the news to her and she abruptly ended our conversation Sun night. I think she knows that she can't take it out on Mom, so she's mad at me. My nephew needs humbling or he will never get help. She's trying to protect him because he's embarassed, but I don't care. I just want him to get well.
Gotta run...Thanks guys!! Happy belated b'day Pete!!
