  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hello everyone,

I feel blessed to have found this community, you guys seem like a great bunch. I have already felt the support of many of you when I opened and shared my problems. And you have opened your hearts, given me answers and expressed your concerns to better myself. For that I thank God, that he has lead me to this place.

An important part of Christianity is helping the neighbour, and you guys honour the teachings of the Lord.

Amen I say to you! and Thank you!.

Irishman, welcome aboard Brother!

We may not always be right in what we say, but we are always here for each other and we can give you a place to pour out your heart.

This has been the safest place I have found for that on the internet!

May God bless you through us and may God use you to bless us too!

Boy????

Who is that???
Ha ha! ^_^

Pete, in honor of your birthday, allow me to post this informative piece:

Many of you "Old Folks" (those over 50, WAY over 50, or hovering near 50) are quite confused about how we should present ourselves.

Despite what you may have seen on the streets, the following combinations DO NOT go together and should be avoided:

1. A nose ring and bifocals
2. Spiked hair and bald spots
3. A pierced tongue and dentures
4. Miniskirts and support hose
5. Ankle bracelets and corn pads
6. Speedo's and cellulite
7. A belly button ring and a gall bladder surgery scar (hmmm . . . Pep has one of these . . . and it's not the belly button ring . . . )
8. Unbuttoned disco shirts and a heart monitor
9. Midriff shirts and a midriff bulge
10. Bikinis and liver spots
11. Short shorts and varicose veins
12. Inline skates and a walker

And last, but not least:

13. Thongs and Depends

Hope that birthday was a good one!!

If those visual images don't chase us off a little strong opinion won't do it.

Oh and happy birthday Pete!

Oh!!!

And I was just going out to get my belly button pierced too!
The tong doesn't fit though, never could get the hang of skates, can't get the support tights over my support bandage for my gammy knee.

Actually I don' t have liver spots - where do I get a bikini?

And I still have all my own teeth, so should I go for the pierced tongue?

Do you think a tattoo would be okay?

Thanks for the laugh Pep!

Jill--how does his long-term prognosis look? Or is that something that's not known at this point?

Thanks for asking Cory and Pep... Basically, we don't know the extent of his damage right now. My brother saw him yesterday and he cracked some jokes and my Dad smiled. He was probably exhausted, so we're hoping that's been part of his problem. He's not talking or swallowing and at this point, we don't know if he can walk. We're taking it one day at a time. Hopefully he can be moved to a nursing home within a week or less. They are holding a bed for him at the home where my mom worked for 35+ years and it's about a mile from my house and my parent's home. Please pray for strength, cognitive abilities and for the doctor's to properly treat and assess him.

RE: my sister/nephew, please pray that he will seek treatment. Also, my sister is upset with me for some reason. She's mad that my brother, aunt and cousin know about this situation, even though my mother told them, not me. But I broke the news to her and she abruptly ended our conversation Sun night. I think she knows that she can't take it out on Mom, so she's mad at me. My nephew needs humbling or he will never get help. She's trying to protect him because he's embarassed, but I don't care. I just want him to get well.

Gotta run...Thanks guys!! Happy belated b'day Pete!!

If you're wearing tights . . . you've got bigger problems than a bad knee.

NO!!! That hurts just thinking about it.

Do you think a tattoo would be okay?
That would be fine, but let me caution you against getting the "tramp stamp." ;) You don't want to ruin your reputation, after all.

Pep that list is too funny!
^_^

Could I see a show of hands of everyone who would like to see a picture of Pete with a belly button ring?
Wayne could do the Speedo . . . or at least the short shorts
Cory--do you want the nose ring or the spiked hair?
Irishman--don't know you well yet . . . maybe the disco shirt or midriff shirt???

(note: I'm only picking on the guys . . .
the most unattractive look I've seen on the girls around here is the--to put it politely--"plumber's rear-end" look . . . no offense Cory :) You do plumbing, right? ).

You and your family are and have been in my prayers (I even took you all to New Wine with me) and I will continue to uphold you all!

Pep,

I love your sense of humour!

Oh and by the way the only time I consider wearing tights is when the temperature drops below -10C which is not often in the UK!!!!

And I think I'll pass on the piercings too! I don't do pain!
