I have come across many Christians who say they believe and get baptised but lack repentance, are they saved?

When you repent, this opens the door for the Holy Spirit to work on you further. The act of trust becomes the conduit, the flesh amounts to nothing since it is at emnity with God.Repent and believe Mark 1:15 for the kingdom is at hand. It’s necessary to turn and go towards God when you get saved. The HS has already been working on you. Baptism is a sign that you have been cleansed from your sins already.

John the Baptist was preaching repentance for the forgiveness of sins and baptizing. The temple establishment in Jerusalem was selling animals to be used as offerings to God as atonement for the sins they committed.I have come across many Christians who say they believe and get baptised but lack repentance, are they saved?

Not a bad post.Guojing makes an interesting point, but in the bigger picture of what Guojing showed us, the entire Bible and the history of mankind is about how man continually rejects the will of the Father for the will of man, putting our will ahead of His, hence the sin of self... self awareness, self interest, self justification, self determination and so on. It was self interest that got Adam and Eve kicked out of the Garden because Eve put her own interest/desire ahead of the will of God and it was the first rebellion, the original sin. Every time the chosen people screwed up, it was putting their will ahead of the will of God.
This entire world we have created in our own image runs of the principle of self. Jesus could be seen as a revolutionary because He presented a counter-culture to the traditional ways of mankind. It appealed to those who were under the oppression of fellow man using the power of self to gain at the expense of others, hence His immediate disciples of the poor, slaves and servants, and women. It did not appeal to the authourity who thrived on the principle of self interest and the power it affords.
The same applies today and the same reaction would occur if He had come now instead of then... more so. If His Gospel of the Kingdom was taught today in all nations instead of another, the world would be split over which allegiance to make, the will of man or the will of God.
That of course might have been the case all along only if 'official' Christianity hadn't turned away from the Kingdom 1700 years ago and put their will ahead of the Kingdom, rejecting God's Kingdom to build their own and align themselves with the governance of man rather than the governance of God. Hence the Gospel of the Kingdom to all nations was rejected for another to cover the rebellion of Gentile Christianity. But it still will occur someday as Jesus said it would be so. Christianity simply needs to get back on track and teach the right Gospel.
So yes the world would likely kill the Messiah today also, but that ship has already sailed so man including Christianity will fight Him once more when He returns, mankind not having made the decision to turn from putting our will ahead of the will of God, hence not repenting(changing) our ways. No room in the Kingdom for those who rebel against it.
No, repentance is absolutely required per Acts 3:19 and Acts 20:21.I have come across many Christians who say they believe and get baptised but lack repentance, are they saved?

Oh yes, it is most certainly a condition for salvation._
A person can and does receive God's free gift of Eternal Life without repentance. Belief is what gives a person, God's free gift of Eternal life. Repentance is not a condition given to receive Eternal Life.
Thanks. Just like in Jesus' day it is going to be tough on those in authourity, be it governance in the secular world or in institutional Christianity as God is going to completely take over the governance of man and I doubt there will be severance pay or that they will not rebel against the idea. His Kingdom come, His will be done... Could be a tough transition for many who have refused to repent so far or don't even know the difference between the two wills. Not a bad post.
Self first is the exact opposite of love.
Christ put us first and that cost Him his life.
What do the scriptures say in Hebrews 10:26-31?I have come across many Christians who say they believe and get baptised but lack repentance, are they saved?
