It is the matter that humans cannot choose God that concerns me -- because this means we can never voluntarily act which means we can never be Christlike and thus salvation is lost to all.

We can choose Him, but He must choose us first.

We love Him because He first loved us.

How does one tell whether He chose a person rather than the person "thinks" they are just chosen?

Please, the question on Genesis has not yet been answered:

Genesis says man was created "in the image toward the likeness". What is the teaching of Calvinism on what "toward the likeness" ?

How is the image so distorted that humans lose the ability to choose ?

How is Adam's sin "imputed" to us ?

Faith without works is dead. The Elect person will love and trust God and want to do works of love and charity to minister to the needs of people and to build up the kingdom of God.

We cannot know about another with certainty but the Bible tells us how to distinguish believers...the Fruit of the Spirit is a start.

Adam chose to sin. The wages of sin is death. All children of Adam have a fallen nature hat wills sin. We sin because we are sinners. Adam's sin is imputed to us because he is our representative and federal head.

Anyway, Rom. 5:12 says that sin is the result of death in Greek (as Tzaousios mentioned), so I think there is a translation issue.

The Elect still sin. They have been given saving grace, will persevere, and are now able to love God.

Sinlessness happens in heaven.

There is for the Elect:

1. Justification - The imputed righeousness of Christ.
2. Sactification - The work of the Spirit that will be completed in heaven.
