I just can’t wrap my mind around needing notes to explain what I said a few days ago. If he’s thar old that he needs notes to remember, maybe it’s time to go.

That's not my experience. That said, the skill sets of a leader should shine for the majority. A leader should have a strong command of his language, and his convictions. If he really believes the words that are coming out of his mouth, he should be capable of rephrasing them, and explaining them, ad nauseam.

For instance, GW Bush was a pretty ok public speaker until he became president and the massive lies buttressing the Iraq war 2 were just too much to keep straight. His capacity for speaking ad lib just went to pieces.

..But then you have guys like Clinton, who would lie under oath, and make up stories as he went along; yet his cognition wouldn't skip a beat. I don't think that Biden's need to carry notes with him is related to dishonesty, as much as I suspect that his mind is slipping. I'm not the only one; as I've posted reports from two foreign journalists who pointed out the same.

Could be. Shame we didnt have to choose between him and guy who'd sink the republic to keep himself in power.

Otoh, Ive heard Biden answer unscripted questions from journalists numerous times, and Id rate him about average. So not a dire situation. But I do wish American presidents had to submit to something like the Brit parliament's question time. That would expose deficiencies.

Clinton. He was probably just too darn clever. I saw a picture of him shaking hands with a friend of mine. Clinton had a huuuuge head! Probably a lot of lies in there.
