Injecting racial politics into an election that already turned ugly, Vice President Joseph R. Biden told a largely black audience Tuesday in Virginia that Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney would put voters “back in chains” with a plan to loosen regulations on Wall Street.
“Romney wants to, he said in the first 100 days, he’s going to let the big banks again write their own rules, unchain Wall Street,” Mr. Biden said at a campaign rally in Danville, Va.

The vice president then lowered his voice and said, “They’re going to put y’all back in chains.”

Some in the audience laughed, but Republicans said the Obama campaign lowered itself to new depths of gutter politics.

They used to sing this song when I was little.

Tennessee ernie Ford - 16 Tons - YouTube

Predatory lending practices can enslave people so they never get ahead. Refund anticipation loans. Check cashing stores--all no better than loan sharks, all permanent fixtures in poor neighborhoods.

VP Biden is blunt at times, but I think his audience knows whose side he is on.

Biden said nothing wrong. It was a figure of speech. Only an idiot would think different. This is just like the "you didn't build that" nonsense. Just because they don't understand adult talk, they scream till the media puts that pacifier in their mouth, and shakes their head in agreement, and tells them it's alright now.

It was worse than a "figure of speech". (And I was glad to hear that a black governor called him on it.) It was pure "pandering" and was intended to be racist.

I sometimes use "yall", but I have an excuse. I lived in Texas and Virginia and my husband is from South Carolina. It's in my natural speech. But Biden? No. It's not his normal speech. It was forced.

Actually he didn't. And since you brought up VP debates, this one is going to be embarrassing for poor Joe.

The Vice President does not have a decade long pattern of advocating one position publicly while practicing another, as Paul Ryan does.

Paul Ryan has voted for unfunded programs dozens of times, adding to the deficit. He supported TARP and the GM bailouts. He had his hands out on the gravy train to get stimulus money.

And, of course, Ryan has to defend his budget, which to most people is indefensible.

You are right. Sarah won the debate "hands down" even though she was hobbled by the unfair moderator who had written a book about Obama winning the presidency (that was due to be published in just months). "Say it aint so Joe" simply wasn't up to it.

Since Ryan demolished Obama in six minutes at the health care summit, he's sure to handle old "foot in mouth".

He's not the only one hinting at it, though.

Sorry. Fact. Bet the video still exists somewhere.

You can only factually declare her a winner if she was named one, and they don't name winners. A fact is something that can be objectively established and you, my friend, are not objective.

They do, however, hold opinion polls. The best we can say is that the majority disagrees with your assesment.

Maybe they do know the meaning of the word 'fact'?

Fantine, I noticed that you noted that you condemned Ryan about TARP. Did you forget about all those times candidate-elect Obama visited still president Bush to get his hands on the funds early? One time was even less than a month from the Obama inaugaration. He just couldn't wait. He wanted it all *now*.

Most people? Most who people? The shills on MSNBC? Ryan's budget is reasonable and entirely defensible. Of course it's nowhere near the lies spread by the left. Some time you should actually read it so you know what you're talking about. But then, you probably have a "friend" who is an economist who read it.

well Biden's right, he will. On the flip side Obama will jack up welfare and put more people on that... so its a matter of which class do you want to have it? The super rich or the super to moderate poor?

Super Capitalist man is just as dangerous to us as Super Socialist (racist) man...

I am going to look at it this way - we tried Obama - it was EPIC FAIL.
I am open to give Mitt a try - if he is a miserable mess too - we get him out.

It's actually the only option we have.

Sure we can vote 3rd party - but for real - when Paul ran he didnt get the delegates - we know he definitely isnt going to get the votes now.

Unfortunately it's how it works. The fact he was behind even on the delegates - means he doesnt have a snowballs chance in hell.

So - i am still willing to give someone else a try at least - we dont know til he is given the chance - but at least he wont infringe on religion. And currently not too happy with Obamacare [once again].
I hope Romney gets rid of that mess.
