Hey you got a point. They are in the 'not yet' category.

India's socialist government has been in place for 42 years. Tanzania's had theirs for 55, which is two years longer than Cuba. The Soviet Union only existed for 69 years before it collapsed. How much more time do you want?

I do not care what you say, or how it is justified. I will not support socialism in any form. You want to talk about social medicine or social programs fine. But I do not want this government to become socialist. No. Not even thank you, just no.

uh... ok. Fine.

Just an FYI to anybody out there who's wondering - you can oppose socialism without promoting falsehoods about it.

Maois, Marxis, and Leninist run rampant in all 3. There are 2 communist parties in the indian government. People are afraid they are taking over.

Again, dictatorship is not consistent with socialism. Socialism, more precisely the use of some socialist ideas and practices, was merely a tool for their dictatorship.

I get that. And in many examples it was a soft kill, or gateway bring about communism. Communist came up with socialism.

I honestly wish people like yourself were able to run off and do your own thing. (I mean that politely as in you have the right to your beliefs) Because I will have no part of it.

This should be a simple explanation..... hopefully.

I was saying they all march together in the same crowds concerning Democratic policies and platforms.
OK but I'm not sure what that is suppose to say about Democratic Socialists. There are Republicans/conservatives that are gay. What does that say about Republican/conservatives?

Why does everything have to be made into an issue? Or is this a misunderstanding?

You really think old man Bernie is just going to transform into a maniacal dictator upon assuming office? He’s been in government for like 30 something years. What do you base this on? Joe Biden? Elizabeth Warren? What would lead to think any of these people are evil dictators?

Differences
While there are certainly key similarities in the philosophy's of Communism and Socialism, there are differences that make considering them interchangeable incorrect. The most fundamental difference is that under Communism individuals are provided for or compensated based on their needs, in effect meaning that in a true communist system you wouldn't have money and you'd simply be given what the government thinks you need in terms of food, clothing, accommodation, etc. Central to socialism is that individuals are compensated for based on their individual contribution, so people that work harder or smarter would receive more than those that don't contribute. This difference highlights a key flaw in the Communist model, where no one has any motivation to work harder or smarter as it would have no impact or benefit for them.

What exactly do you think my beliefs are that you want no part of them?

And from what you've told me of your life story, you'd probably make out better if I had my way.

Communism vs. Socialism

The government can't even regulate its own budget.

I would agree with certain programs just not a socialist government.

Socialism.

I don't want your stuff. Besides we will both be worse off in the long run.
"Socialism" is nothing but a scare word when it's used to denounce blindly.

This is a tactic the Republicans have used for decades. Any policy the Republicans don't like they call "Socialism". These days they extend it to the people who support those policies also. The fact is that socialism is already part of our society and government(s) in America and always has been. It shouldn't scare anyone. It's like being afraid of the town's trash pickup or the city water supply - it's irrational.

But as I said, the fear is stoked by the Republicans as they've done for decades.

I think it is how invasive this is. To completely change the country from its founding principles.
There is nothing in the Constitution which specifies which economic system we should adopt.

I pay for my trash pick up thru taxes. I have a well. Free water. cost around 20 to 30 in electric. Gotta septic tank. Completely free.

I have a problem with the government determining my water, food, and other services.
