Nope, it's not. Just ask the thief who died next to Jesus.

Yes, Baptism is required for the remission of sins.
Listen, Believe Confess, Repent, and be baptized, and you shall have the holy spirit come into you and your sins washed away.
Go to your nearest Church of Christ and they will tell you the details.
They generally default to "baptism by desire," which they attribute to the thief on the cross. That is, they would have been baptized if they could help it.For those who cling to the baptism is necessary viewpoint, I would pose the following question: At what point does a person become saved? If the new believer has a fatal heart attack on the way to the baptistry, is that person going to hell? What about if the new believer slips in a puddle next to the baptistry and fatally hits his head on the ground? What about if the person is electricuted upon entering the baptistry before the pastor is able to say the proper words?

Methodist, Anglicans, Lutherans and many other Christians groups besides Catholics and Orthodox baptise babiesChristians see things alot different than say, catholics, we don't baptize our babies we do what was done to Christ and that is to have have our babies dedicated to him, as Christ was dedicated to GOD. And if there is anyone out there saying you have to get baptized then you better get a message to the thief on the Cross next to Jesus, he was told today you will be with me in paradise, no baptism there. I believe it's all about circumstances, I was babptized as a baby and as an adult, when I found out what baptism meant I read on it, studied it, owned it and got baptized! Repent and be baptized is just as well, but a baby doesn't need to repent of anything, let alone talk.
