  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

We Pentecostals love to constantly remind Christians to be attentive to The Baptism of the Holy Spirit. And are on guard to defend the HSB against the notion that the Baptism into the Body of Christ and Baptism of the Holy Spirit are one and the same which they are not. All for another thread. For the baptisms of Christ are all one, all Christ's; baptized into His body, baptized into water and baptized in the Holy Spirit. These three are continually confused by attempting to combine to this day, which the scriptures do not, (be careful of the slight of hand) again, another thread. But the commission does not select any, but calls on them all,

''Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit'' (Matthew 28:19)

But the wonderful mystery of water baptism (WB) has been revealed so vividly to the child of God, they receive it sub-consciously, yet, remains a mystery to the world's most prudent, even if it was told to them. For to all He said,

''That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit'' (John 3:6)

The problem for the carnal is when trying to rationalize the combination of these two verses. They are left holding it raw, is WB of the flesh, or Spirit? Again, thanks be to God who has revealed it to the child of God who received it from the beginning.

Jesus Christ, King of kings and Lord of lords.

And asking to explain 1 Cor 10:2 which reads , And all were Baptized together unto Moses. in the Cloud and in the Sea. .

# 1. How were they Baptized all baptized unto Moses. , as there were thousands of Jews following Moses ?

# 2 What does the Could represent ?

# 3 What does the Sea represent. ?

# 4 What happened to the Egytians that followed them. ?

And just asking about Matt 28:19 make disciples of all nations ( and does it ALL Nations , meaning Jews and Gentiles )
And that verse does not say to Water / Hydro , why not ? As it is not , meaning water , in the Greek text ??

A fine question and as you can tell from the close of my first paragraph,
But the commission does not select any, but calls on them all,
Although the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is not named except by John the Baptist and Jesus, for the Biblical orderliness does not make it an occasion punctuated by man's choosing, but God. So, from the several accounts in Acts, it is hard to point to the predominate use,

Baptized by accepting, into Christ (Acts 2:41) Receiving Christ
Baptized by protocol, into His death (Acts 10:48) Water
Baptized by petition, into the Holy Spirit (Acts 9:17,19:6) By petition and not by an order as in 10:48, for it is by God)

So, to your question, why should it not be included? They all are still Christ's though Matt 28:19 does not name them, they are confirmed for us in Acts.
