CorrectEverywhere that isn't in the Black Sea basinIndeed. In our very genes. There is absolutely no way that the human genome as it is currently distributed in current global populations could have stemmed from a family of 4 related couples only a few thousand years ago.
i mean evidence of those who survived or were not touched by the flood.
Was God mistaken? He did not intend to wipe out all of mankind (except for those on the ark)?

Hebrews 11:7 To Faith being apprised Noah, the concerning the not as yet things being seen, being reverent, prepares an Ark into salvation of his house--through which he condemns the world, and of the according to Faith, righteousness became enjoyer of allotment.
1 Peter 3:20 To ones being stubborn once when awaited the out of the God, patience, in days of Noah of being constructed an Ark into which few, this being Eight souls, were saved thru water.
Let me see if I can bring up a good Flood thread to discuss it on.Explain your post amigo and how it relates to my question above
It's in the first post. Read the article.
And Lucy isn't your ancestor. She's more like a distant cousin.
Lucy is your ancestor. Or rather the species A. afarensis is ancestral to H. sapiens. There are transitional individuals linking A. afarensis thru 2 intermediate species to H. sapiens
Not unless God has red hairTherefore, Lucy is more in the image of God than i am?
The Black Sea Inundation Event is believed by many anthropologists to be the real world basis for many of the so called "Great Flood" legends.
Therefore, Lucy is more in the image of God than i am?
LOL! No. Remember God has no physical form! Thus "in his image" does not refer to a physical form, but is a phrase common at the time meaning that the individual can make binding treaties or business agreements for the distant sovereign or boss. It's about having power. Lucy, because her technology was less, actually had less "dominion" over beasts than H. sapiens.
Lucy was usually prey, not hunter.
Adam comes to mindWho did God make in His image, and when? Lucy was before me....was God speaking of Lucy's ancestors? (the ones before Lucy)
Yeees.... I just said... in our very genes. The human population as it exists today could NOT have decended from 8 related people in a few thousand years. Therefore, the evidence of all the other survivors is in our genes. If they hadn't survived, and contributed to the modern gene pool, the human population would be very very different. If not extinct.i mean evidence of those who survived or were not touched by the flood.
I don't believe God intended to wipe anyone out per ce. "The Flood" is just one of those things that happened, but because of its immensity and the human predisposition for "majical thinking" God was invoked as cause, and sin the justification. Was God mistaken? He did not intend to wipe out all of mankind (except for those on the ark)?

Adam comes to mind
Genesis 5:5 And they are becoming all of days of Adam which he lived, nine of hundreds year and-thirty year and he is dying/ap-eqanen #599 LXX
[1 corin 15:22].
1 Corinthians 15:22 For just as in the Adam all are dying/apo-qnhskousin <599> (5719), so also in the Christ all shall be being made alive.
[Genesis 5:5]
Adam is an ancestor of Lucy, and he resembled Lucy more than resembled me, and he was made in the image of God?
Well, its a hypothesis that makes sense to me, and the Black Sea Basin appears to be the cradle of the precursor proto civilisation that most of those with "Great Flood" myths decend from... but I admit I am no more than an enthusiastic layman. Not "many". Just the people who proposed it.Most archeologists look at the archeological evidence of devastating local floods that had nothing to do with the Black Sea event.
Or... Adam and Eve and the whole Garden of Eden bit are a metaphor, as is the idea of God creating anyone "in his image".Adam is an ancestor of Lucy, and he resembled Lucy more than resembled me, and he was made in the image of God?
That is Lucy? I was thinking of another one ehehe...sorryshe (Lucy) is more in the image of God than i am?

If you believe that God literally created humans in His actual physical image, then I have some questions for you, mostly about God's sex organs.
