So why the continued research?
For the sake of it - we discovered why particles have mass! For most scientists, that's reason enough.
I've seen one video that said this was able to look back into time before creation ever existed.
I wouldn't hold my breath
If it's not spiritual, or something unseen that shouldn't exist, what can been done with such a thought?
What can be done with the Higgs? Well, a better understanding of the nature of mass has a good chance of leading to all sorts of sci-fi technologies that involve manipulating mass at is fundamental level - inertial dampeners, near-luminal speeds for large objects, gargantuan engineering projects (and the trivialisation of small projects), the space elevator...
Think about the electron. When it was discovered, no one knew just how integral it would become: our understanding of electromagnetism gives us... everything. Everything in the modern world.
Now just think what we can do with
gravity...
From everything I've watched and read, I somehow feel that God might be really angry for trying to find Him.
1) Why would he be angry for us trying to find him? Isn't that what humans have been doing since the dawn of spirituality?
2) We're not trying to find God. We're trying to find the Higgs boson so that we can better understand the universe. I'm sure most scientists have a sense of the numinous in their work in deep physics, and some may even see it as a way to better understand God - but I'm dubious that any scientist thinks finding the Higgs boson is how we find
God.
3) You might be conflating 'the God particle' for more than it is.
I guess my simple question is, what is that point to prove this theory?
See above. We search both for its own sake, and if that's not enough, you can capitalise on the potential technological leap.
