That's no fun. Glad you've gotten over it!
Same! Thankfully, symptoms were pretty mild. There was one day that was pretty bad, but all the rest were fine. :)

How are YOU?! Fill me in on all the things!

happy to hear that! I had it back in May/June, and was basically fine but got some bronchitis type inflammation where I had pain when breathing in, but it eased after like 3 days.
My mom wound up in the hospital for two weeks ish though, so it was a little bit stressful :ahah:

I am okay! How are YOU?
Two or my associates tested positive at the same time, though both were infected from family members and hadn't even worked together in over a week ^_^
So it was just me and one associate, covering all the shifts last two weeks. One associate has returned and the other is doing fine, so I'm grateful. No big complications from this round.

What have you been up to?

Oh no! How is your Mom doing now?

You seem like you've been under a lot of stress - from your Mom being in the hospital and covering for your associates. Yikes! What do you do?

And, I've been busy. Keeping weekends lowkey and weeks working. Looking for a new job currently, but trying to be wise in it because I no longer have a car :( It rusted out and broke down.

Still not brave. I got rid of the face cover in my current avatar pic for a change.
Isn't that a picture of you in your avatar?

Yup, that is me, I made it small enough so face recognition programs can't ID me.

But just big enough for a person to see that I'm a human being from Earth!:D Not brave enough to post pictures that can be ID'ed I suppose!

Better and better little by little, still some lingering issues here and there.

What? Me? Stressed? Naaaahhhhhh.
:argh::aarh::freeze::hhh::noooo::tantrum::waaah::ahem:

What do I do? Mostly make mistakes and inappropriate comments :ahah:
Nah, I'm an Optician and vision center manager at a Walmart.

Oooof, job hunting sucks, and so does being without a car. Sorry to hear that.
What do you do?

I'm glad she's doing better. That's always a scare.

Anddddd, I work in mental health. Been there for 3 years, going on 4 years. It's just a hard job. Whew. How long have you been at your job? That seems stressful in itself. Managing others?! No thanks.

me and my spoilers. Name a better combo, I'll wait...
:comeon:

How did you find my walmart anniversary picture!?!?!? Are you stalking me?
:lost:
Haha, but seriously, I relate to that pic on such a deep spiritual level.

Yeah, it wasn't for the feint of heart.

Speaking of not for the feint of heart, mental health work.:hug::hug::hug: I can't imagine how stressful and difficult that is.

I started at walmart 2016 as an overnights mod team associate, that wasn't for the feint of heart either :ahem:
Worked my butt off for like six months until I could get transferred to a different department, God opened me a door in Vision center, and I've been running with it as far as I can. So let's see. An Optician for almost 6 years, 3 at my first store, going on 3 at my current more sketchy store, and manager for about 8 months now.

Haha, yeah, I knew being manager would often mean babysitter, but I was not prepared for how often I would be called on to essentially be the dad. I joked in what's on your mind a few weeks ago that I'm basically the dad of my parents and siblings, and now that includes my coworkers too, so even though I've never had kids--I am now father to seven fully grown adults, six of whom are older than I am :muahah:

Fiiiiiiiiine, there's no better combo out there. Alright?

And, if I am a proper stalker, I cannot relay that information to you, now can I?

And I do struggle with my job. I used to love it, but it's become more difficult as we get new clientele. But, I won't leave until I have all my ducks lined up :)

How do you like the manager position over an associate position? Pros and Cons....GO. And, I expect the list to be in alphabetical order.

Wow, such sincerity, just warms my heart right up, it does.

You can't say if you are or aren't?

That's best, always get your ducks in a row first. Are you looking for something else in the mental health field, or something new.

You want a pros and cons list? In alphabetical order? Fiiiiiiiiiiiiiine.
NOT!
Haha, my situation is kind of a funny. Most of the Cons of management like more stress and responsibility-- I already had because my manager hated me and was lazy-- so I did most the manager stuff anyway-- and I was constantly under a microscope, because she was just waiting for me to make a mistake she could hold against me. So I'm already used to shouldering the load and being meticulous. Biggest con is being responsible for my associates and having to play parent when they decide to start bickering like children. And being responsible for the financials and stuff. In a down economy, people are looking to save and get by. Especially in this neighborhood. So that's been tough, trying to get our sales numbers up to their projections that are so very inaccurate. I also really didn't get a raise when promoted. Right after my promotion, walmart restructured compensation for Opticians so my associates made more or about the same as I do. But they didn't think to adjust managers in the restructure. Haha, walmart for you.

I do feel I get more freedom at work, which is fantastic. I've focused more on making sure things run smoothly, and that it's a good place to work, rather than focus on what's going to get me the biggest bonus at the end of the year. not having to dread going to work, and actually being in a good environment while working helps. The biggest pro is not having a boss looking over my shoulder and nitpicking. And I schedule my team in such a way that I don't have to hurry in the mornings, and that helps a lot too.

The Gatsby party was a lot of fun! I've been to a Gatsby wedding as well, which was equally as fun :) I got my hair done for the wedding, but did my hair on my own for the FIRST TIME IN THE ENTIRETY OF MY LIFE in the picture that I posted. After 5 anxiety attacks, I finally got it to do what I needed it to do. Haha.

I can't say if I am your stalker, goof. My lips are sealed......

I'm looking to work at a school until God calls me where He wants me to be. I want to do what He wants me to do, but my heart isn't there yet. So, trying to ask Him to change my heart for what He's calling me to do. Ifffff that makes sense. I reread it and it doesn't to me, so I'm assuming it won't for anyone else for that matter.

That's unfortunate about the pay. Are the benefits good at least?

And, you failed at the alphabetical portion of this test. Come see me after class.

That's awesome! I love themes like that.

:aarh:

So do you know where He wants you to be and you're just not ready yet, or are you saying you just know where are isn't where your meant to be yet, so you're waiting?

The only difference in benefits from associate to manager is that I will get a bonus at the end of the year if my vision center can reach their projected numbers. All the other benefits are the same. I should be making more money in theory, but with the restructure, they haven't caught up to that yet.
The biggest benefit though is just not having a manager trying to destroy me :ahah:
That's the entire reason why I went for the promotion in the first place, I was afraid of who they would bring in to replace my last manager :asd:
Also I'm not technically "on the schedule", so I can be late without it dinging my attendance in the system. So there are some good benefits, yes.

Have you ever been to a themed wedding before? They are loads of fun :)

I know what His calling for my life is, and I've been running away from it for quite some time. So, I guess my heart is not ready. He has yet to reveal the place or time, but I've been opening up my heart more to the calling. A lyric from a song that I used to listen to on repeat has been my motto: "Though the call is hard, You are worth it all." I want that to be my desire - to please Him in all that I do.

I've had a boss who wasn't so nice, so I understand that part. Glad you don't have someone completely breathing down your back :)

Oh boy, what is the latest you've been to work before?

Sadly no. Only been to like two weddings my whole adult life, neither had themes-- unless "redneck" can be considered a theme :eheh:

Ah. That sounds difficult. Can't say I've ever really been in your shoes. My problem is always not really knowing and just trying to guess what I'm supposed to do.

It's quite a perk, let me tell you. Lol.

The latest I've ever been to work?... I'm gonna plead the fifth on that one :dontcare:

Hmmmm, redneck can DEFINITELY be considered a theme. What does one wear to a redneck wedding? I'd love to know.

You will not plead the fifth. TELL ME. This is a safe place. ;)

Also, help settle this debate.....would ya?

Would you rather have the ability to see 10 minutes into the future or 150 years into the future? Cited resources required with your answer.

That really tempts me to photoshop his head onto a robot.
Um, why is this not happening? You should totally do it.
