Hmmmm, redneck can DEFINITELY be considered a theme. What does one wear to a redneck wedding? I'd love to know.

You will not plead the fifth. TELL ME. This is a safe place. ;)

Also, help settle this debate.....would ya?

Would you rather have the ability to see 10 minutes into the future or 150 years into the future? Cited resources required with your answer.

Um, why is this not happening? You should totally do it.
Overalls with nothing underneath and a straw hat, of course! :p
Lol, nah, the redneck theme was sadly unintentional. I just remember feeling way over dressed compared to other guests, and then the Best Man showed up late, wearing a tee-shirt and jeans. The reception was "potluck", fried chicken from the walmart deli, the family's dog was off in the corner, barking the entire ceremony, etc.

Let's just say, when there is no doctor on staff, and I have people scheduled to work the morning-- I *may or may not* have turned my alarm off, so I could sleep in, and then stopped and grabbed lattes for everyone on my way in so they'd forgive me for being late :asd:

Interesting debate. I'm not sure what benefit there would be to seeing 150 years in the future. Even if you foresaw a tragedy, no one would believe you.
But if you could see ten minutes into the future, you could win a fortune at a casino. Few hands of blackjack, a couple slot machines, let it all ride on the roulette wheel a few times, get kicked out for winning too much, and never have to worry about money again.

That's how I pictured a redneck wedding: Overalls with no shirt on, for the men at least. Haha.

A T-SHIRT AND JEANS?! What were the groom and bride wearing?!

Haha, you're a little slacker, coming in late with lattes as a peace offering. Shameful.

I can see how seeing in the near future is better than 150. Even then, you wouldn't be alive in 150 years, soooo........

T-shirt and jeans, no lie. The rest of the wedding party, wore suits and dresses for the most part.

You said this was a safe space! Now you call me a slacker!? How could you?!:runcry:

Now, help me settle this debate: if you could be CEO of any company, what company would you choose?

Hahah, I love that. I had a friend who wanted to wear shirt and jeans to her wedding. Not sure if it happened!

This IS a safe place. Maybe just not with me :p

And I would be a CEO of.....I don't know. There's a deaf community here. Though not deaf, I would love to be a CEO of a deaf program. I want to make hearing and deaf communities clash. So, making more sign language classes available, up the interest in taking those classes, etc. etc.

Now, not a debate, but a question of some sort: SUPERPOWER. Which one would you choose?!

That's really cool! Honestly, sign language should absolutely be taught more in schools and stuff.

That's such a hard choice! But I would have to say flight. Imagine soaring through the clouds, and being able to go anywhere you want, whenever you want.

Question because inquiring minds wanna know: if you could, what strange thing would you make acceptable in society?

Hahahah, fiiiiiine. I won't call you a slacker anymore. *slumbers away*

Flight is a good one. I would say invisibility because then that means I can travel with no need to buy plane tickets. :)

And, in response to your question, being introverted. Introverts can sometimes be seen as standoffish/unfriendly while extroverts are more seen as confident/transparent. It's just not that true. I'm essentially an ambivert but tend to score higher on the introverted side.

What do you think is the best show on Netflix right now, since that's the committed relationship you're in right now ;) ?

You'd better not! :nooo:

That's a good one! Never pay for a plane ticket, movie ticket, concert, etc EVER again!

That's a really good one! Being an introvert in a society that pretty much acts like there's something wrong with you-- sucks big time, can confirm.

:muahah:
I don't watch THAT much Netflix! Gosh!
Best show on Netflix was The Office, but now that it's on Peacock, I think my favorite show on Netflix is probably Daredevil or Punisher.

If you had to listen to just one song for the rest of your life, what would you pick?

You will be fine. I promise :)

So, I'm assuming you're also introverted?

Oh! I've never watched Daredevil or Punisher. What are they about?

And, "This is the Song That Never Ends" ;) HA, I kid....I kid....

Well, two of my favorite songs right now is "Seasons Change" by United Pursuit; "Litost" by The X Ambassadors; and "I Found" by Amber Run (don't watch the music video, it's messed up. The lyrics are great, though.) But, I would probably do "Litost" by the X Ambassadors.

Do you like documentaries? Any good ones recently?

haha, okay.

Much more introverted in real life than I am here for sure. It's a struggle. But I know a lot of people have it a lot worse than I do. Some people legit act like something is wrong either you, which totally, absolutely, 100% helps the situation.

Oh! They are super hero shows.

"This is the song that never ends, yes it goes on and on my friends..." :ahah:

Ooooh, haven't heard those songs, I don't think. But I love X Ambassadors.

I do like documentaries, but it's been forever since I saw one. I've seen a bunch of "youtube" ones about strange pop culture things that happened, does that count? :eheh:

Darn, it stinks when people pre-judge someone for their personality. Ya know? But, you seem like a smart man who doesn't let it get to you.....hopefully. :)

You know the X Ambassadors?! That makes my heart so happy. They're one of my favorite bands.

I guess strange pop culture things that happened count. I won't let it slide for many people, but for you, I'll let it slide. Just this once.

And no, I have yet to see any good ones recently. I watched one on Youtube that was fascinating, but I forgot what it was about, haha.

What’s the best thing you’ve ever bought off Amazon?

Yeah, it doesn't get to me anymore. When I was a teenager, it sucked a lot. Getting a job kinda pounded it out of me. I'm still awkward as all get out at times, but I've mostly learned to live with being an introvert at this point.

I do! My fave of theirs is "BOOM". Heard it on a commercial and couldn't get it out of my head until I found it.

Oh good! I was so worried it wouldn't count, thank you for being gracious. :ok:

You should look into "the internet historian". Fascinating and hilarious stuff.

Oh that's tough! Right now, I gotta say the HD projector and tripod setup I ordered. I point it at the ceiling, and then when I lay down, I can movies/play games/ read Ebooks just by looking at the ceiling above my bed.

What's the coolest thing you own?

That's good. I know as teenagers, those things tend to bother us more than it does as adults :)

And boy, I'm sooooo awkward. But, it's something I embrace.

I'll check out the internet historian! I need some good stuff since I took tomorrow off from work :)

Oh yes, you did mention about your HD projector in another thread. What movies, books, and games have you done on it so far?

And honestly, I collect mugs. So, those, I guess. But wait! I did travel to China and I brought home chopsticks. So, those :)

Do you listen to any podcasts? Which ones?!

Yeah. Now it really only bothers me when I see other introverts being mistreated.

Haha, glad to hear it.
I'm the most awkward human being on the planet. I even had a thread on the board specifically dedicated the awkward things that happen. I should find this thread and bring it back...

You took tomorrow off?! Lucky!

Yes, I'm sure I've mentioned it before, because I am very proud of it :ahem:
I've done all kinds of stuff, action movies, rom coms, hard boiled detective novels, comic books, video games, it works for everything.

Collecting mugs is a great hobby! I have way too many, and keep buying more.
Chopsticks from China? Oh thats cool!

It's been a few minutes since I listened to a podcast. Back during the Covid shut downs, I was the associate health screener, so I would listen to podcasts at work.
Probably the last one I was listening to was about pro wrestling, actually. It was fascinating to learn about how the business works, the behind the scenes stuff, how they develop a storyline and choose who's going to "get over", how people get poached by other brands, the dirt-sheets and wrestling journalists, the histories behind it all.
Even though I am not really a wrestling fan anymore, and haven't watched in years. Getting an honest look behind the facade and the mystique-- it entertained me while I was sitting by myself, waiting for the next associate to come get screened :ahah:

Do you read novels? What kinds?

Don't listen to just one person. Their thoughts/opinions have no power over you unless you allow it to!

Obviously if someone is insulting someone about their looks, that's a them issue and not a you issue.

Puhleeeeze bring back the awkward thread. I would totally participate in it.

Yeah, I needed a mental health day. Haha. I should have taken off Friday, though, so I could have had a 3-day weekend.

If I thought about that, I would've been very proud of my invention as well :) What's been your favorite movie thus far?

I have 57 mugs right now, haha. It's bad. And I also continue buying more. I actually want to buy this currently:

Haha, that podcast does sound interesting! I'm not into wrestling, but I can find myself interested in that podcast. I don't really listen to any podcasts, but I would want to listen to Office Ladies with Pam and Angela from The Office. :)

And, I do read novels. That is also a collection I have. I don't have enough bookshelves for my books so my parents are housing many of them and I have some in my bedroom closet. I read mostly fictional and self-development books :)

What was the last good book you read?

I *may have* already brought it back....

Next time, get that 3 day weekend.

My favorite movie is probably Inception. What's yours?

Oh snap! That's a lot!
That mug is amazing!!! Well thanks for showing it to me, now I wanna buy one too! :ahah:

Oh I've heard of the One with Pam and Angela, but haven't listened to it yet.

Nice, nice, nice. You can't have too many books.

Last good book I've read... The Big Sleep by Raymond Chandler, maybe. It's an OLD detective book, but the prose and dialogue are so full of character and style.
Something more modern... Killer in the Wind by Andrew Klavan. I'm on a crime thriller kick.

What's your favorite book or genre?

Ha, I did see that you already brought it back, so there's not "may have" necessary ;)

And, yeah, I don't know what I was thinking when I requested today off.

Andddd, shocker, but I don't really have a favorite movie. I guessssss the closest thing would be Hitch and Ever After. Although not big on romance films anymore, Ever After and Hitch have been a staple in my life ever since I was young, haha.

Yeah, I have a lot. My friend helped me move and he counted all of them. That's the only reason why I know how many I had. Anddddd, here ya go. Go crazy. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08CYB5R6...olid=2B0GW8MPNPWRK&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it

I love, love, LOVE mystery books. I don't own so many of them.

Do you prefer e-books or regular books?
