What hypocrisy. I believe the vaccinated was given the green light not to wear mask. I don't agree with, because so many

By whom? In so many places we are told we have to wear a mask no matter what. OC certainly is the mask wearing Nazi, well at least for others.

And according to statistics now vaccines are not much of a deterant to Omicron with so many vaccinated now getting it.

Is Florida one of those places?

AOC certainly is the mask wearing Nazi, well at least for others.

But not for you, correct?

And according to statistics now vaccines are not much of a deterant to Omicron with so many vaccinated now getting it.

Then doing nothing is and has always been the better option, hmmm?

How would Florida offer her more of a fun and relaxing vacation, you ask?

Under normal circumstances, it probably wouldn't have.

But under the current set of restrictions set for the two states, respectively, Florida would be a lot more fun right now.

Universal masking rules (regardless of vaccination status) and distancing rules in a lot of places, and having to fiddle around to find your vaccine card before you go in anywhere (because only California vaccinations are in their passport system).

Having to do this in a restaurant (per the official rules from the Cali public health website):
Note: You are allowed to take off your mask while you are:
- Actively eating or drinking as long as you are sitting or standing in a specific place such as a table, counter, or ticketed seat.
- This means that you can briefly remove your mask when you are actually eating or drinking but you must put it back on immediately afterwards.
- You must also wear a mask when you are waiting to be served, between courses or drinks, and while seated after finishing your food or drink.

So basically, pull the mask down when you're taking a bite or sip, and pull it back up right away.

Doesn't exactly sound like my idea of a "fun relaxing dinner on vacation"...but that's just me (and probably most other people)
Thank you... You're right, I was wrong on this one. I was just in So Cal 3 weeks ago and while I was there only L.A. county had a mask mandate and checked vax cards. I went out one night in Huntington Beach in Orange County and there was no mask mandate. But since then it has changed, statewide mask mandate....

In a way, it feels like they're delaying the inevitable (which is that we're all going to get covid at some point)...there's only so long one can hide from it.

I had a prior infection in Nov. 2020, two pfizer doses in April 2021, and a booster right before thanksgiving. Still caught the Omicron in mid-December (despite not going to any large gatherings, etc... in the weeks leading up to that). My infection was very mild (likely thanks to the prior infection and vaccine immunity I had), but still caught it none the less.

Unless one is willing to move into a cabin in the woods by themselves, miles away from everyone else, and "live off the land", they'll catch it at some point.

There's only so long they'll be able to convince even the most ardent and careful people to stay cooped up in their house.

AOC is a young person who's vaccinated and chose to go on vacation and mingle, and caught it...odds are, she'll be fine just like I was. I don't fault her for that. I've gone on vacations during the pandemic, I knew the risks.

As I said before, hopefully she sees now that this "risk calculation" is something we're all going to have to do based on our circumstances, and won't immediately vilify everyone who wants to make that choice.

I'm sorry you got it, let alone twice. Glad you were vaxxed and didn't have severe symptoms at least.

I don't agree that we're all going to get it. That could happen, but I'm still hopeful it won't. They are doing the right thing by fighting it tooth and nail, vax and mask mandates as much as they can impose. As they fight it and develop new boosters and vaccines for variants as well as new therepeutics and treatments they can get things to where it is less damaging and/or deadly. So, even if we all end up getting it, hopefully it won't be the damaging virus it was in the beginning or what it is even now, which is not as bad as the earliest variants.

I survived a 3 week trip to Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Palm Springs (and back to Las Vegas) with visits to Huntington Beach in Orange County and to Ventura County, both counties which had no mask mandates, and I hate indoors at both, maskless. I ate indoors in several Vegas resturants and spent hours in casinos mostly maskless also. I even went to my office in midtown Manhattan for a dady and spent the evening going to dinner with friends, plus riding mass transit, granted all with a mask on. In all that I did nto get Covid. Smartest thing I did was to buy Covid home tests in Vegas before coming home because they are sold out in the entire NYC metro area.

I know plenty of people who still haven't gotten it and I think it's very possible to keep going without getting it. But we'll see. I think that as a pro-life Christian I have an obligation to continue doing as much as possible to keep from getting it and to help others to do what they can to not get and/or spread it.

Lack of masking had nothing to do with her being infected, though.

Lack of masking has much to do with her hypocrisy however. I personally don't care if anyone wears or doesn't wear masks, gets jabbed, or whatever else they want to do. I do care when an elected official goes all totalitarian on her people and then doesn't follow her own rules.

I don't think there's much opportunity for that...she posted it on her own twitter feed

Although the last part, about her "encouraging everyone to follow all CDC guidelines" is a bit ironic, considering she was partying maskless at bars in Florida. (which means she wasn't following their guidelines)

Sort of a "do as I say, not as I do" sort of thing...
What CDC guideline wasn’t she following. It looks like she was outside, not inside and of course you can’t eat or drink with a mask on. In my very liberal city you can be in a bar unmasked while you’re eating and drinking. And there is to mask rule for outdoor spaces.

"All totalitarian on her people" - what would be an example of that?

And D Trump a guy born into a billionaire family and given millions and millions of dollars as a child a liberator from the elites fighting for the working class?

Up means down
Down means up
Night means day
Day means night.

We were talking about AOC. An elitist. Which she has proven herself to be. She better than the rest of us you know. She can tell us what to do while ignoring it for herself.

How do you know? Cause not only want she masked but everyone else around her that she was associating with wasn't either. She wasn't demanding they be masked like she does with the rest of us.

Have you looked at those pictures? She's not eating and drinking in them.

I actually don't fault her either. I think she perfectly capable of making her decisions based on the risks she's willing to take.

I think she epitomizes what we have been calling for all along. Leave us the heck alone and let us assess our own risk and make decisions based on that. But according to far to many on the left AOC put people in danger. She could cause someone to die by not masking or social distancing. She's as bad as any one of us.

But they won't see it that way. They will defend her while castigating the rest of us for choosing not to wear a mask.

I do have to wonder why they aren't screaming insanely in her face and calling her a murderer since her selfish particles were obviously left to roam free killing everyone in sight.

Well let's be fair. Her selfish particles weren't going to kill everyone in sight. But they could have. Or at least could have killed at least one person. And that all that matters. :sorry:

True, thank goodness she wasn't at a drive-through trying to get a drink or it would have been tragically different!

What is your definition of an elitist?
